Great location, free parking, excellent facilities including laundry, food and drink vending machine, and a wonderful communal eating area with microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine. Room looked out toward Mt Aso. Hotel is next to railway station. There are a couple of restuarants and a Lawsons nearby.

Location was great. Behind a small alley, but it is just a 2mins walk to Sunroad Shinshigai which is an old fashioned shopping street with plenty of food and shops. Kumamoto Castle is not that far off too, around 20mins walk I think. Room and facilities were great too. Strong hot water from the taps/shower, and a nice range of food at breakfast.

The arrangement of the shower room with a separate toilet and vanity basin outside of the shower. This worked really well for two people getting ready in the morning. There was plenty of storage space for clothes. The room was big. The public baths area was beautiful and the baths were relaxing. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff who were happy to help at all times.

We love how convenient it was for location that you can just walk down the hotel to get everything you need and transportation was just outside the hotel. The best part is the Aircon system was working even during winter.

We had a wonderful stay – the accommodation is cozy and lovingly decorated with great attention to detail. You can really feel that the hosts put their heart into everything: many things are homemade, and that personal touch makes all the difference. Everything was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable. Everything!! The hosts are the best that I have met in Japan. They greeted us when we got there, prepared gifts for my children and myself. Showed us around and were super nice. They even showed us their place which is connected to the suite we were staying! I love all the amenities they have. The beddings are very soft, they had soft and firm pillows to choose from, they had games for the kids, and best of all, a washer and dryer!!!!! We love every moment of it and my kids said this is the best house! I will come back to stay longer next time.

Although the location is a bit far from Kumamoto Castle, it’s manageable if you plan your transportation in advance. The last bus to Kikuchi leaves around 6 PM, so public transport can be a little inconvenient. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The countryside scenery felt peaceful and comforting, reminding me of my hometown. The hosts provided bicycles, and riding through the rice fields was incredibly relaxing and beautiful. The hostess made an absolutely delicious breakfast, and both hosts were unbelievably kind. They treated me like their own child, even driving me to Kumamoto Castle and drawing a route map for me. Their warmth and hospitality made my stay truly special. Next time, I would love to stay for a few more days just to quietly enjoy the rural atmosphere and beautiful countryside life.
