Aunthetic place to stay. The building is older but the rooms are clean, spacious, and unique. Incredibly sweet staff and the Onsen was the best after long days in the sun. Great location right by the main station, so all sights are easily accessed. Sleeping on the tatami mats and in the traditional rooms was fun, but may not be for everyone. At least try a few nights. Stay here!

Location was great. Far enough away from the city centre that you're away from the noise and can rest peacefully at night. But, the front door to the hotel is 30 seconds away from the train station, so travelling around the city is super easy. You can get to Karasuma station in under 15 minutes. You're also on the right line to get to Nara without having to go into central Kyoto. Rooms were very big by Japan standards. Everything was clean and in good order. Staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Nice room for 3 people (we were upgraded to a 45 m2 room). Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast (served at the table, no buffet). Quiet location, just make sure to tell taxi drivers to take you to Hotel Okura Okasaki Beitei, as there is another hotel Okura downtown Kyoto.

The hotel is situated in a great location and easily accessible to the shopping district, food and other places of interest. The hotel room and facilities is very new and I like it that the hotel is eco friendly. I was given a free upgrade to the botanical room which added extra points to the hotel stay.

The location was just off a Main Street but was very quiet and convenient, lots of small coffee shops convenience stores and restaurants near by. The metro was a 150 metres away and the main shopping area was just over the main road.The beds were comfortable and probably the best bathroom and shower in our two week and 4 hotel stay in Japan. lots to like.

A perfect place to stay in Kyoto. It is beautiful and is in a. Great location on river. It has everything a family needs and is very comfortable. The two inside outside gardens are so beautiful and make the place so special. The property manager is so helpful and even helped arrange our luggage transfer and gave us loads of tips on where to go etc
