Hotels with Pools in Pointe-Noire

The situation is outstanding, set high above the Caribbean sea with a view over the luxuriant jungle and the delightfully kept gardens with mango, palm and other exotic plants and trees. At night the song of the frogs and birds lull one to sleep. Breakfast was good, as was the dinner we ordered. The massages were most relaxing, warmed by the last of the evening's sun as it set over the ocean. The host couple were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Kinda tough to find since it is our first trip to the Guadaloupe Islands. Once Lise sent the exact coordinates Apple Maps got us there just fine. Lise speaks no English but she graciously called her daughter, a school teacher, to come help us. Let me say the accommodations are so very nice. Only the bedrooms are air-conditioned and the only ceiling fan is in the living area but it all opens up to a terrace. The pool/spa is heated by the sun and in May it can get pretty warm. Even the ocean water temps were high at 86 degrees F. We were 2 couples traveling together tho' one couple stayed only 1 week. No problem. Got them to the airport in about 1 hour 10 minutes via the north route rather than over the mountains - much nicer! Driving is scary and I have driven in Houston, TX many years. But back to the apartment! Bedrooms are good size and well apportioned with closets, bedside tables, windows, lighting, and a wonderful mattress and good pillows with the most exquisite linens. Bathrooms were bright and clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked - REALLY WELL STOCKED! I found NOTHING lacking. Inside dining table as well as outdoor on the terrace overlooking the pool. The terrace was spacious and wrapped on two sides. Laundry drying racks are available as is a washing machine in the apartment. The lush fauna was beautiful with bougainvillea of several colors, bird of paradise, banana trees, mango trees, ferns and orchids and crowing roosters, an occasional goat bleet, and doves cooing all add to the remote feel of the area. Lise and Roro hosted a welcome on Monday night after our Saturday arrival. Their daughter was there again as well as a niece to help with translations. It was so nice to get to know them a little and benefit from their hospitality. We are already planning another trip later this year and hope Lise and Roro's will be available again.

Very friendly, helpful but unobtrusive hosts! All facilities are immaculately kept, pool, garden etc. Exceeded our expectations! Lovely fruit from the garden! Private patio space very good. Carole and Diddier could not have been more helpful. The garden is a particular feature, with hummingbirds and other local species. Excellent position from which to explore all of Basse Terre Island of Guadalupe!

The host Isabelle was very friendly and kind, even though we didn’t speak French she was so patient with us while we used our google translation to communicate. She even brought us a bottle of rum for our stay, so sweet. The property is very beautiful, more than we expected and was perfect for our family. We hope to come back next year!
