The place is great! After spending some hectic days in Bangalore arriving to Shwaas felt like landing in Heaven. Calm, fresh, lush green grass, well kept, spacious rooms, nice pool, well planned garden with lots of small spots to discover and explore. Both the adults and the kids loved it! the staff on the ground was also great - the food they prepared and service provided was great! They kept surprising us with some food items and activities we didn't even expect or request for! We truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you @Shwaas Team!

We had a 1-night stay at Southern Star for a quick visit to Mysore. Hotel is located close to the palace and is a very well managed facility. Hotel staff were very helpful and we were very well taken care of during check-in by Easter. We used the travel desk facility within the hotel to book a car to do sight-seeing. Laxmi at the travel desk was very helpful in understanding our requirements and arranging the car. Well managed/maintained restaurant in the hotel served tasty lunch/dinner buffet with full menu to customize our food requirements. Captain Abhishek and team at the restaurant made our dining a pleasant experience after a busy sight-seeing day. Jeevan helped us checkout and offered to get us bagged breakfast as we were checking out early to catch the train back to Bangalore. He arranged for the Auto's to take us back to the station and ensured a quick and seamless checkout. Overall, our experience was pretty good and we will come back to this hotel every time we will visit Mysore.

We love everything about this icon of Mysore, a delightful jewel in a famously lovely state. We loved the high Raj-era ceilings and thick (heat-defying) walls of the ground-floor suite (a special treat), which was spacious, decorated in gorgeous period furniture and lighting fixtures, including a claw-footed bathtub with shower, and had a lovely outdoor patio looking out over their lovely, well-manicured gardens. The food is unbelievably and reliably excellent. (I will love Mysore festival rice the rest of my days.) The service is efficient, warm, and courteous. No surprise, then, that this venerable hotel of traditional South Indian grace is much-beloved by locals, for whom it is a special-occasion breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and special-occasion venue. A must-stay if you can afford it without western-style expectations, and just enjoy what unfolds around you, which is the magic of India.
