I was very happy with my stay there. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. Even though most of the staff did not speak English and I did not speak my Portuguese, we still communicated well with each other. I so appreciated the owner's consideration for my comfort and his staff seems to have the same sentiment. The location is away from the noises of the city which adds to the therapeutic feeling while you're there. You can easily drive to Coimbra about 20 minutes away and enjoy the quiet roads along the way. The restaurant is classy and has a big menu. I ordered the sliced cod which ended up being too salty and fishy-tasting. I don't know if it is the recipe or if the recipe needs to be adjusted. The service was excellent and their wine selection is impressive.

We have had a wonderful three week holiday in Portugal, staying in a variety of lovely places from the southern coast to the northern border. But of all those lovely places, Sete Quintas truly won our hearts. By rebuilding several abandoned stone buildings that had housed flour mills and an olive mill on property bordering a small river, adding gardens, olive and fruit trees, and a swimming pool, the owner, Carlos, has created a gem of peaceful tranquillity and natural beauty. We stayed in a small stone cottage - living room, bedroom, bathroom, very comfortable and all beautifully furnished and decorated - right beside the river, relaxing to the sound of the water. Delicious breakfasts were served in the lovely dining room in the main building just across the stone courtyard, where we also enjoyed delicious dinners, including excellent wine from a friend’s vineyard in the Douro Valley and olive oil made from Sete Quintas’s own olives. The owners made us feel so welcome and right at home; Carlos was very helpful with information about the area. This is a great location for exploring Coimbra and the ancient ruins at Conimbriga.

We loved everything. Jose was super helpful and friendly. The house is beautiful and well equipped. The pool is just perfect and the kids had a lot of fun. A perfect place for a family.

Lovely little village with a huge selection of DVDs to enjoy, stunning views from the terrace and balcony, and the added bonus of a friendly cat (sometimes bites if he gets too many pets) and dog.

Wonderful ultra quiet retreat. Spectacular views and the whole group of buildings and grounds has been meticulously rebuilt. Eric is a wonderful host. It was the perfect place to recharge for a few days while working on a project nearby. I am pretty sure I will be staying here quite a bit during this project over the next year or so. Can't wait to go back for the next visit. Highly recommended!

Really beautiful and remote - exactly what we were looking for in a quiet retreat. We came during the winter so didn't avail ourselves of certain amenities like the pool. Our unit had every comfort available and areas like the kitchen were cleverly designed.

The attention to detail from the owners was something I had never seen, and I've been renting houses since COVID. They had regional products on our entry that made us go around the area searching for the producers, they had bread being delivered daily, the house itself seems like it was made thinking of vacations. The areas were nice, the pool was nice, the garden was great, they even left wood so we could grill food, but Susana was impeccable. She was always available and helpful. I would give 12 out of 10 if I could. Will surely come back, and for a longer period.

A great place, lovely and comfortable, Staff are very helpful and kind, let us do a very early check in. Good shower and comfortable beds.
