The staff were wonderful - we had to reorganize our check-in time several times, and they were really nice and helpful. They even helped us send our luggage straight to Tokyo and were very attentive about a gluten allergy one of us has. The food was a solid 10 out of 10. We had an outstanding dinner and a traditional Japanese breakfast with all the small, beautifully presented dishes.

Open from 2016, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto features a Western-style restaurant and a tea house by a pond in Shakusuien Japanese garden as well as a lounge. Kyoto Station is a 7-minute drive away.

The hotel’s interior was stunning, complemented by a beautiful garden setting. The service level was exceptional, and the staff were highly professional, assisting with packing my bags and even handling shipment arrangements. The onsen was definitely the highlight of our stay - so so beautiful. They also had a complimentary snack and alcohol bar which was a delightful surprise. There's a shuttle bus that goes to Miyagi station, but the last bus finishes early (around 1700) so its best to plan your trip in advance.

Conveniently located a 7-minute walk from JR Kyoto Train Station, RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto is renovated in September 2016 and features 8 restaurants.
