"Our visit to Cafayete was incredible. The Domos del Viento were an experience in themselves with spectacular vistas, beautiful clear blue skies by days, sunsets over the mountain scapes, and brilliant starlit nights uncluttered by city lights. The Quilmes ruins are meticulously preserved and maintained, and the visitor centre displays function in Spanish, English and other languages. Various wineries have tastings, restaurants and accommodations up and down the valley (if you can’t get a reservation at the Domos). The food in local restaurants varies from simple to sophisticated but always featuring local cuisine and ingredients. The people are welcoming and helpful. And I suppose I should mention that the local Cafayete wines are excellent by the glass and even better by the bottle."

"Cachi is a beautiful small town. We spent only 1 day but I would suggest 2-3 minimum. There are plenty of small towns nearby and some TOP NOTCH wineries and bodegas to explore. We're going back again and slowing it WAY DOWN."

Exceptional breakfast, extraordinary setting/grounds, beautifully designed rooms and common/sitting areas, lovely artwork/artifacts throughout, amazing pool and views of the mountains, turn down service with a surprise treat each evening, delicious dinner selections, and warm/welcoming service from everyone. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Our stay felt like being welcomed to a friends "country home" for the weekend. Perfect!

This is a very nice place to relax and enjoy free time. The room is vast and includes a kitchen and a living room. The access to a garden was appreciated ( cherry tomatoes, peppers, squash). The swimming pool and the view were ideal to relax. We recommend the place if you can get there early during the day or for more than one night stay to take advantage of the location and amenities.

We really enjoyed our stay in Cafayate.
We really enjoyed our stay in Cafayate. We stayed in a beautiful vineyard hotel called Vinas de Cafayate, with spectacular views. The town itself is quaint, and quiet, with great dining options as well as wine tasting. It is not overly touristy, and it's a place I could have stayed much more time in.

Cachi is a wonderful little town in a complete colonial...
Cachi is a wonderful little town in a complete colonial style situated at 2500 meters altitude. This helps with the temperature, which is around 25 degrees while it’s 30+ in Cafayate. Around the large square with tall, shady trees, there are several restaurants. All Argentine towns have such a large square, green and with shady trees. The squares, which are always called 9th of July Square or another famous date, attract both tourists and locals, and especially in the evening, there is a rich social life with music and performances. As always, people sit and drink mate tea from characteristic cups with built-in straws.

Lots of nature - treks , hikes , horse riding.
Lots of nature - treks , hikes , horse riding. Llamas , parakeets , caranchas , etc .We went for a drive on a dry river bed - looked straight out of a Hollywood movie setting . Local artisans into weaving , but only simple designs .

Don't miss this town on your Argentine visit. We enjoyed amazing wines, delicious foods and absolutely the most beautiful landscapes. This is not a one day trip. Come for several days, there is so much to see and do here.

We stayed 2 nights and it was just right.
We stayed 2 nights and it was just right. I regret the museum was not open when we were there. A recent storm had knocked out the internet in the whole town and only one restaurant had it working. The main square is a charming oasis of green in the white-washed town that is clean and inviting.

Cachi was the jewel of the towns we visited during 3 weeks...
Cachi was the jewel of the towns we visited during 3 weeks in Argentina. The hotel was clean, contemporary with local art work, friendly employees, and easy walking distance to the plaza. The view of the hotel courtyard and pool was beautiful with Cachi in the background. Cachi was very walkable and clean. We happened to be there the weekend of the yearly music festival. We were too tired to attend but could hear the folk music from our hotel room, which was fun. If this could be a problem for sleeping you might want to check the date of the January festival, but it added to the charm to see the musicians arriving in costumes and and hear people singing along. This is a BIG festival in a small, charming town.
