The staff was very helpful, even no one waited us at the time of our arrival. When they realized that we have no time having breakfast, a lady of the staff prepared a breakfast pack for the next morning, and even she didn't speak English by a translator program she gave us all the necessary information, and she was really kind.

First of all I must mention the Italian origin owner of the property, where he did everything with his two hands! However he speaks very well in English, which is rare even in the most touristic places in the Andes. The room is rural, with a very pleasant atmosphere. The hand made breakfast is unique, tasty, the vegetables, fruits are produced by the owner, who prepares and serves everything. Even the parking place is not too big, but closed. The garden is full with flowers, nice plants. Finally there are some really good restaurants nearby, we tried one of them: giant portion, fantastic tastes.

10 +++ /AA+++ stay. The check-in process was very slow and painful. Great place to stay to visit the national park. Nice large clean cabana. Cold refrigerator. Nice small private balcony. Great air conditioning. Great Hot Water. Covered parking directly next to the room. Nice little breakfast.

Barreal is a simple village with a quiet life.

Barreal is a simple village with a quiet life. You need to have a car to move around. Not to be missed the observatory for star gazing and the wind carts in Pampa de Leoncito with Familia Toro. Also, if you are a horse lover do look for Mr Carlos Villaroel. He has a great herd of horses that are used to go up in the Andes. He is an experienced and friendly guide with a family tradition of horsemanship. Alto Barreal by the main square (a little bit hidden but worth looking for it) is the place for "picadas" or assortment of cold cuts and cheese.
