Staying at Safari Lodge in Cape Tribulation was an unforgettable experience. The location is incredible—right in the middle of the rainforest and just minutes from the beach. Waking up surrounded by nature and hearing the sounds of the jungle was something special. The lodge itself was clean, comfortable, and had a really relaxed vibe. The pool area was perfect for cooling off after exploring, and the staff were friendly and welcoming the entire time. It felt like a great mix of adventure and comfort. Cape Tribulation is such a unique place where the rainforest meets the reef, and Safari Lodge is the perfect base to explore it. If you’re looking for a laid-back stay immersed in nature, I’d definitely recommend it.

Superb luxury property in the rainforest. Very well equipped kitchen and huge coveted and uncovered outside areas. Despite the amount of insects in the area the property itself was spotless and the location was amazing, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest and frequently visited by wildlife. Short drive or walk to cape Trib ‘center’

The location is quite perfect, in the middle of the forest. Very secluded. Room very comfortable and air conditioner worked well. Continental breakfast was plentiful and staff happy to give advice. We had dinner, which was good value, in such a lovely setting. The pool came in handy.

Best things about the property would be the location. Rooms were basic but comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating, they provide cutlery boxes on loan if you want to eat some of your meals in your room. On-site restaurant was excellent.

The deck was my favourite spot, although even lazing in bed I had a great view of the Daintree and surrounding mountains. We chose to eat at the hotel where the meals are excellent, although a tad too big:). Take a vehicle as you'll want to cross the Daintree and enjoy the drive up to Cape Tribulation with some gorgeous walks along the way. We cruised with Solar Whisper to view crocodiles and other wildlife in their natural habitat and saw many memorable sights.

We loved the walks along the river in Mossman Gorge.

We loved the walks along the river in Mossman Gorge. We went to Cooya beach which was very pleasant to walk along but you can't swim there because of the crocodiles. It is only 30mins to Daintree Village and we had a great trip along the Daintree River with the Daintree Boatman. Great coffee at Temptations and excellent meals at the Mossman Bowl's club. We have stayed here twice and plan to return again in a couple of years.

Diwan is a one of the oldest parts of the Daintree Rainforest. Just beautiful !!! You need to catch the ferry over the river to get to the northern side to access this location. Need to be aware the cost to catch the ferry back and forth. Many things to do and see on the north side of the river to keep amused.

It was an absolute privilege to be the very first guests to experience this property. Amos was the most welcoming host that one could ask for, treating us to a lovely cruise in the tinny down the mighty Bloomfield and around the coast to his family’s absolute gem of a property. We knew we were in for a treat from the moment we stepped onto the sand, and everything that lay beyond more than confirmed that. The property not only has spectacular natural scenery including unspoilt rainforest (with a colossal strangler fig to rival Curtain or Cathedral) and a pristine freshwater creek, but more charm and creature comforts than one could ask for being tucked away in a tiny valley without road access. Everywhere we looked we found signs of the decades of hard work and love put into the cottage and surrounds, with some highlights being the superb little kitchen, cozy hearth, fish filletting station and amazingly comfortable bed. If it sounds like I’m exaggerating, it’s because despite being locals from not too far south, we felt like we could have been in the middle of the South Pacific after a day here. A better fisherman than I will make short work of the coastline, with an accessible beach, mangroves, reefs and cliffs all a short walk from the house. Luckily for us, oysters cannot swim away. The gardens are laden with tropical fruit and vegetables to try, of which, we supplemented our homemade curry with breadfruit, coconut and a few too many birdseyes. Thank you Amos for giving me a good deal of brownie points with the missus for surprising her with this experience for her birthday weekend. We will surely be back as soon as we can, all we can hope is that the place does not get discovered by a hoarde of instagram influencers.

We started our adventure with a night walk through the rainforest with an experienced guide, which was fascinating. The next morning was spent horseriding, first through the rainforest and then on the beach and in the water. On the way home we did ziplining in the rainforest, which was scary at first because you start at a substantial height but once you get going it was great fun and very safe. Don't miss treating yourself to a visit to the Daintree ice cream company, they grow their own tropical fruit and make it themselves.

Beautiful part of Australia.

Beautiful part of Australia. Would recommend you have your own transport and look at staying for a week or so to take in all the different parts of this area. We visited in July and the weather was warm during the day but cold at night. Definitely recommend a river boat cruise of the upper Daintree River.
