AustraliaWhen we arrived, the cottage was warm and inviting. The main room was cosy and warm even though it was quite cold outside. We loved the warm, complimentary home baked loaf of bread that was waiting for us as well as the chocolate bars and the pod coffee machine with complimentary pods. The entire cottage is in immaculate condition and all appliances, cutlery, plates, etc seem like new. The main bedroom is very spacious and the bed is super comfortable. The sofa bed is also really comfortable. The shower is great as well. We really loved staying here and enjoyed the rural outlook as well as watching a kookaburra feeding not far from the cottage in the morning before we left.

A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania.
A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania. A good area to base yourself for trips to Cockle Creek, Hastings caves and Southport. The local scenic roads can be windy at times, with patches of dirt roads which can vary in their condition depending on the time of year. Beautiful views of the Channel and Bruny island as well as the many bays and inlets. There is a small IGA in town, a BP service station with driveway service... open 7 day a week. certainly, a bit of a rarity in this day of self-serve! There is a golf club which also has food service, and a couple of small cafes. You need to check the opening hours as they weren't open during our stay.

An interesting area with things to see. The Hastings caves were wonderful and the Tahune Adventures Airwalk is great too. It's a bit hard to find a coffee and something to eat at times, if you don't plan ahead.

Kingston Hotel had extremely large rooms and was on the opposite block to Coles supermarket and other shops.
The rooms were separate from the hotel which enabled a very quiet sleep.
Shiploads and Chemist etc were just outside the door approx 50m an easy walk.
Didn't get a chance to see anything else.

Since last visiting Kettering the car ferry service has greatly improved, no extended waiting times.
The Cafe next to the terminal is very relaxing: I recommend the chai latté
The chandlery is now a great restaurant, sit outside on the deck, Seafood Chowder is amazing

I didn’t spend a time in Cygnet as I was visiting a friend,...
I didn’t spend a time in Cygnet as I was visiting a friend, but driving through I observed some lovely shops, a twice monthly Sunday market was well patronised, and I visited Ian Clare’s pottery studio across the road from the beautiful bay. I plan to return, so I’m looking forward to checking out the other shops and local sights.

This BnB would have to be top of the bucket list, with absolutely impeccable presentation, wonderful hosts, great outlook over the bay and close to other attractions and tours. Will definitely stay there again, but for longer.

We just loved the entire vibe and ambience of the space.
We just loved the entire vibe and ambience of the space. The location and set up allowed my partner and me to completing relax and decompress from some long days of driving and the busy city of Hobart. We did not have to leave the place for food as there was some complimentary food provided and we brought groceries ourselves, and thanks to the hyper efficient portable electric stovetop we were able to cook any food we needed with ease and efficiency.

A very relaxing part of the world looking over Surveyors Bay. The view was amazing! The house is so sweet and nicely decorated- A few more lamps would make it more cosy. The single beds were a little squeaky and uncomfortable.
Good value and a beautiful drive along Huon River.

Franklin is a cosy little place with warm and inviting people.
You are able to travel to a number of places in a short distance.
The food at the cafe - cinnamon and cherry was outstanding. Well worth the drive just for that.

Beachside down that’s quiet, but has lovely beaches, as well as a great pub (Southport Tavern) with an adjoining little chippy / shop that has the basics. Fishing on the jetty or on a boat (easy launches from the boat ramp) is always a staple activity. On winter Saturday’s, the Rocket at the End of the Road cafe is a winner.
