We stayed in a superior beach view room. Ideal for a couple or small family.
We cannot praise this resort enough.
The room is superbly positioned on the beach with dolphins swimming only 50 metres away!
There is everything that you need, a comfy bed, a small kitchen, beach and bath towels, cleaning materials etc.
After a long drive from Perth via an overnight in Geraldton, we were really ready for our stay.
Monkey mia did not disappoint.
We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant and a takeaway meal from the bar, both were generous portions. Sundowner drinks in happy hour were also a must for us.
We wished that we had been able to stay for longer.

The only thing is there could be more GF options for Breakfast. Maybe cut fruit that is covered so cross-contamination is avoided.

A very old hotel, but very clean, comfy beds, warm shower, coffee facilities, microwave, air con. Large room. Queen bed and single. Under $110. 2 days notice, also the location is locked up after the pub shuts, can only open from inside. Nice and safe for you, your vehicle and your belongings. Walking distance to the town centre and foreshore. I have stayed a number of times and will keep returning.
This property is in a great waterfront location. We had a pool view room. It was very comfortable and spacious, and had everything we needed for a couple of days stay. I'm glad we didn't pay extra for an ocean view room. The days we stayed there were large boats parked along the road in front of the property that would have blocked the view a lot of the time!

Wonderful location. Very rustic and you need to be organized with supplies. Lovely to watch the whales 🐋, and sunset from your patio.
We enjoyed our stay but 2 nights were enough for us oldies.

Excellent facilities and location. Layout of the village is very unique and provides great privacy with minimal disruption to and from other residents.
Will surely be coming back.
It was a nice stopover before heading up north. I enjoyed my brief stay, nice comfortable beds and the restaurant was very convenient after a long day of driving.

Very limited in choice of restaurants.
Very limited in choice of restaurants. Noted the people walking around the town may not have walking for health reasons. As visitor I did not feel secure in the evening.
When we return in a few days we look forward to visiting the Space Museum.

Beautiful sea views - lovely place to relax.
Beautiful sea views - lovely place to relax. Monkey Mia 30 minutes away fabulous with the dolphins coming into shore. Wonderful experience. The catamaran trip from Monkey Mia is a must. Saw lots dolphins, dolphin family that search for food with sponges in their mouths. Skipper family been running cruises for 40 yrs wonderful knowledge imparted. Also saw turtles and dugongs which I particulary like. Cruise reasonably priced.
The ocean observatory was also very imformative and worth a visit. Great cafe - views for lunch and a 45 minute walk around.
Of course well known for fishing and snorkelling but we did not do that.

Spectacular location with wildlife literally on your doorstep, resident dolphins and turtles. Accommodation was comfortable and there was good food in the restaurant as well as a convenience store onsite: meaning you had to need to leave the resort Loved it and cannot wait to go back.

Since the 1 Mile Jetty was destroyed the town has lost one of it's major attractions.
Positives include great fishing from boats, the new museums at the remains of the jetty, the fascine waterfront area in town, a few great coffee shops and bakeries, and the space tracking station experience just out of town.
Negative is the issue with safety/damage to property - there is unfortunately a problem with juvenile behaviour in town (which the police are definitely trying to control!)

Our accommodation at #2 chalet at Tasman Holiday Park was perfect. Very comfortable. Jo at reception was really friendly and helpful. The Shark Bay Hotel was ok, cold drinks and great location but food was not great and we didn't feel welcome there. The Old Pearler is a great building and we had an (expensive) dinner, atmosphere was lovely. Both supermarkets were great, very helpful and could have a chat and learn a bit more about the area and places to go. We also bought seafood from Shark Bay Fish Factory which was amazing. Unfortunately, Roger Cook's government is closing commercial fishing in the area from January 1 2026 and so they will no longer be operational. What a loss! Location was perfect for us with easy access to Monkey Mia. We also came at a time that was quiet and I believe Denham can become very busy at peak times.

Dolphin show , not as good as expected, saw more previous day. And probably comparing to our visit to Tin Can Bay QLD. You could actually feed the dolphins, letting them take the fish out of your hands.Wife & I have video of each other feeding a dolphin.

1-2nights is adequate in Carnarvon.
1-2nights is adequate in Carnarvon. If in the area make sure you make time for the Quobba Blowholes. These are a must. It is 70km north of Carnarvon so can be done on your way to Coral Bay.
The food loop along the river is great for picking up reasonably priced fresh produce.
Also whilst the one mile jetty is being restored, the historic precinct is worth a look.

We went out to Francoise Peron national park (4WD only), the Aquarium with lunch, and golf at the most westerly course and a good meal at the pub. Due to the weather our trip to Dirk Hartog was cancelled but we support the wise decision of the tour operator who provided us a 100% refund.

Literally right on the beach, make sure you go and see the dolphins in the morning, sometimes there's only one there but other times there's 6+, plus there are also turtles that frequent the area.
Plan to stay a few days because its a bit of a hike to get there but well worth the time as it is a magical place.
