The beach view is amazing. The hotel is sparkling clean. The room was amazing with kitchen, and laundry too. The balcony was our favourite spot! The cafe was great. Love the ocean side vibe! The Cinnamon buns were yummy. We already booked our second stay in the fall. Staff were great! Parking easy.

This is now my second time staying at the Holiday Inn at Port Elgin and I really love my stays here. The staff are extremely friendly and warm. There is so much lounge space in the lobby and restaurant area, and the rooms are incredibly spacious. The breakfast is so generous too! Love staying here.

It was a typical continental breakfast @ this level I would prefer fresh cooked eggs or omelets and better sausage and bacon as well as more easy access to filtered water as in the gym. The gym filtered water dispenser was extremely slow in dispensing.

The property exceeded expectations across several key performance indicators. The staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and hospitality, creating a seamless guest experience from check-in to check-out. The rooms were impeccably clean, well-appointed, and designed with both comfort and functionality in mind. Amenities such as the fitness center, spa, and on-site dining options contributed to an elevated stay. Location was strategic—close to major attractions yet quiet enough for relaxation. Overall, a high-value offering that delivers on both service and experience.

We recently stayed at Escarpment Heights Motel with our family and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, making our stay very relaxing. The housekeeping standards were excellent, and every area of the hotel was well maintained. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the staff. The team was courteous, attentive, and always willing to assist with a smile. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The combination of comfortable accommodations, cleanliness, and exemplary customer service made our family visit both enjoyable and memorable. We would gladly recommend Escarpment Heights Motel to families, business travelers, and anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

My husband and I loved the property, because it was right on the lake. We loved looking out the window, while it was raining and watching the rain fall on the water, it was wonderful, beautiful, peaceful and romantic to look at; you have to be there to enjoy the moment. And watching the sunset off the water, it was also beautiful. The property have lots of sitting areas with fire pits and BBQ grills. And for this time of year, it was quite. The price was affordable and our room had everything in it. We went for our 6th wedding anniversary and we loved our weekend getaway.

The town is small, not much to see other than souvenir stores, but the views, crystal clear water and park lands in the area are beautiful. If your destination is relaxing beaches and enjoy nature hikes...this is the area.

Friendly people, perfect summer climate.

Friendly people, perfect summer climate. Unfortunately provincial highway 21 is the main street. Traffic going north and south congests' s everything. Restricted parking downtown. Traveler's using the road need to obey the speed limit's. No sign of the police enforcing speed limits. Port Elgin has a lot of good dining spots, there is no shortage.

We booked this location through Booking.com.

We booked this location through Booking.com. We received our confirmation number and we were satisfied to have something near our destination. We were going to be a little late After 6pm to check in so we emailed the hotel with our confirmation number and name to let them know we were still coming but would be a short time after check in time. We did not receive a response so we next phoned just to be sure they were aware of our arrival time. We were assured that it was not going to be a problem with the check in time. When we arrived to the location we were told that we were not in their system. We provided the confirmation number and reminded them of our earlier email and phone conversation. The man checking us in was unfazed and just said "call booking.com you booked through them." He was not helpful or apologetic, he didn't seem to care at all that we were now stuck without alternatives. It was a Friday evening and there was nothing else to be had. We had to drive an extra 90 minutes one way and 60 minutes back in the direction of the motel early the next morning. So if you decide to book this location do not feel confident that you will have the room that you have booked even if you have it confirmed by email, send correspondence to them by email with confirmation numbers, and speak to them directly by phone with assurances that everything will be fine. You could be nonchalantly turned away with little regard for how you will find accommodations last minute. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If I am giving them the benefit of the doubt - it is a very poorly run establishment.

The beach area is very clean and well kept. You can see the effort and pride the city has in its beaches. They have bagpipes pipe down the sun 6 days a week. Saturday nights is the parade and concert. I always feel a real sense of community when visiting there.

We have always loved Southampton.

We have always loved Southampton. Use to live there and had a cottage for many years. Quaint, pretty town with many wonderful people, shops and things to do. Always come back every year to have picnic in pioneer park or go the flea market, bakery and hear the Piper down by the flag. We love to attend the Annual Pumpkin Fest Car Show held in the adjacent town of Port Elgin. Miss living in Southampton and it will be an annual road 🛣️ trip for us. Our grandson was married at Fairy Lake and had their reception at the old Town Hall. They have also returned to Southampton from time to time. Everyone should make Southampton a once in a lifetime place for a summer ⛱️🌞 vacation. We are our dinner at Lord Elgin in Port Elgin. Fabulous fish, shrimps and service.

What a wonderful stay!

What a wonderful stay! Doug is a warm, welcoming host with a great sense of humour. We really enjoyed our conversations, and his local recommendations helped us discover some incredible hidden gems. The accommodations were spotless, comfortable, quiet, and had everything we needed. The beautiful grounds reflect the love and care that’s gone into this charming little B&B. Thank you, Doug! We loved our stay and hope to be back.

Not only was it convenient and we were served so fast, it was DELICIOUS! The lovely lady that we had making our omelettes and sausages was super friendly and helpful AND she made in my opinion the most awesome omelettes and the sausages were so tasty.
