Leslie was an outstanding host. She is personable, has a great sense of humor, is professional and works hard to maintain the highest standards at her B&B. We absolutely loved our stay and appreciated her local expertise, willingness to go the extra mile for our comforts, and efforts to produce outstanding breakfasts. She and husband Michael work hard all day long to maintain the well run B&B!

The owner was very kind and wanted to assist us to have the best stay. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Parked right outside our window so easy to get out luggage in and out.

We stayed in Room 118 which had just recently be renovated into a two bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a generous living room. The decor is lovely with fresh, modern furniture and the beds were very comfy and the Inn is very quiet. We enjoyed meeting Larry and Cynthia, the brother and sister team that manage the property on behalf of the owner (their mother) and they are both lovely people that could not do enough for us. We understand that room 118 was the last to be renovated and that the other suites are similarly appointed. We would highly recommend this hotel for those staying on the island that are looking for a higher end place to stay.
Grill and Chill (not licenced) is right next door and open for all day, a family style restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming vacation apartment on Manitoulin Island for two nights, and it was nothing short of perfect. The one bedroom apartment itself was immaculate, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen that made it easy for us to cook our meals. The owner was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their warmth and hospitality added to the overall experience, making us feel right at home. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home, this is the place to be. We can't wait to return!

For the most part, the facility was great.
For the most part, the facility was great. Just didn't like that the room had room-darkening curtains that couldn't be closed, so I could sleep better. Pillows were a little too small - almost like a throw-cushion compared to a pillow.

Mindemoya was a good place to visit.
Mindemoya was a good place to visit. We went to see Treasure Island, as we had heard about the island on the lake on the island on the lake. There were places that were easy to park in for viewing the lake.
We had a wonderful meal the the Grill & Grub (?) next to the Manitoulin Inn on 551. Great place to eat next to a great place to stay.
In exploring Manitoulin Island, we found the Split Rail brewery and enjoyed that, too. We were unable to locate an open pub in Mindemoya.

Great variety of beaches, some sandy, some stoney, but all with beautiful, warm, clear water. Lovely boardwalks along the harbour front marinas. Wonderful destination for sailors. Several good hikes. Only the main highway through the island has shoulders ample for cyclists.

We chose our motel listing as it said Restaurant attached, however, it was not open. We were given the menu at checkin and told to call the establishment to let them know when we would come for breakfast or dinner, but the restaurant was always closed, we never saw anyone eating there, and when we went to the office at 7:00 PM to return the menu (1/2 of which we were told at check in was no longer available) all of the office doors were locked and there was no reply when we knocked. ( sign said office was open until 10:00). We decided then to eat our meals elsewhere on the island for the rest of our stay. There was nowhere else to eat at providence bay -all restaurants closed! (we were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday, leaving Thursday after Labour Day) The bakery was opening on Friday for weekend guests, and The fish and chip restaurant was closed as well (open only for Saturday and Sunday) the only other place open was a tiny business which sold Jamaican JERK food. There was ice cream available there and pre-wrap snacks.

Our host Leslie was very welcoming and gave us lots of information about the area for things to do. Our room was well appointed. Breakfast was superb. There was coffee and tea available 24 hours. We would most definitely recommend staying at Twin Peaks to anyone.

Nice place to visit.
Nice place to visit. There are nice places for hiking, swimming but almost all the side roads are not paved. Two full days would probably be enough. Make sure you reserve the ferry in advance because you might not get the time you want.
There are some restaurants and Tim Hortons, nice chocolate shop in Kagawong, Gore Bay. All travel information could be found on line or in visitor centre.

Mindemoya is a nice place and basically in the centre of Manitoulin Island so other towns were relatively close. There was a great restaurant next to the Manitoulin Inn that we ate at. The only downfall was that it was pretty much the only restaurant in town. Too bad there weren't more places to eat and nowhere to get breakfast!

It was our first visit, to see the rest of the island you need transport. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we plan to return. But due to Covid there was no restaurants open for dine in. Or closed for the season. We visited beginning of October.
If you're planning a longer trip, look beyond Manitoulin Island and explore the whole country!
