This is a wonderful place to stay. Staff was friendly and very accommodating to our visit. The location is tucked away from the city life so it was calm, quiet and peaceful, yet very close to the nearby town for amenities. Views of the mountains and fresh snow were great! Will be staying here for our next visit to Interlaken area.

They had us at the entrance with their genuine, friendly smiles. The atmosphere is really cozy, and they pay attention to all the details. The afternoon snack is a lovely gesture. The view is astonishing from the pool, the restaurant, and the balcony, too. Best location ever. Our servers, Anette and Laszlo, were amazing! Everybody was helpful, sometimes even without our asking. Portions of food are more than sufficient and really tasty. Our dog loved the plush blanket!

The property has been very responsive both via booking and by phone. The staff was composed, helpful, and considerate. It was our first visit but they made us (dog included) feel welcome. Cleanliness was spot on both in the room and common areas. Stay at the hotel restaurant as the chef develops and executes daily excellent menus. The location is perfect for hiking as many trails start directly from the doorstep.

Simply fabulous!! We arrived wet and tired after a long day's walk to be greeted by the wonderful Brigitte...so welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. As a trailer was blocking the view from our booked room we were generously given an upgrade to a 2 bed apartment. It was fabulous...clean, bright, modern with all sorts of thoughtful extras. The rest of the hotel followed suit !! Beautiful dining room and terrace with superb mountain views. Buffet style breakfast had a wonderful selection, beautiful breads and simply delicious. A fabulous modern style spa complex, always plenty of room. It also includes a free chairlift and bus pass which was a real bonus for our walking. It's also an easy walk into town if you can bear to leave the lovely hotel !!

Great location for nature lovers. Excellent food in the restaurant. Expensive Swiss prices, so be prepared, but very worth it. Down to earth atmosphere, very friendly staff, great location for the hike to Anenhütte and the Panoramic trail.

We had an amazing stay in this traditional Swiss chalet! Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with a big balcony offering breathtaking mountain views—a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. The staff was very kind and helpful, making us feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was a true delight, served buffet-style with a delicious variety of options. Enjoying our coffees & the delicious breakfast with such a stunning view made it even more special. The room was warm, cozy and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after a day in the mountains. Small but clean bathrooms with really hot shower! Free parking included. Just a short walk through the village to the cable car (you’ll get discount with the hotel card) and to the recommended by the Staff very good restaurant! 👍 Thank you! 🙏 Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic Alpine experience!

Breakfast was good, personnel very kind and helpful, big room with everything we needed, everything was clean, nice and inviting. There seems to be good sound isolation as we did not hear anything from any of the neighboring rooms. Wifi worked perfectly, no issues, same with the TV. Very quiet area and very close (5 minutes walking) to the train station which also has a quite extensive mini-super-market, open until later in the evening. Good pizza place practically next to the hotel, a couple of minutes walk, as well as a bigger supermarket very close too. Nice sitting room(s) if you want to take a break someplace else than in the room. Nice view towards the mountains from the restaurant/terrace. The hotel also has a Confisserie/Tea-Room with delicious sweets and cakes.

Kandersteg is a wonderful, small, laid-back alpine town.

Kandersteg is a wonderful, small, laid-back alpine town. Lake Oeschinensee and its panorama trail was the highlight of the whole trip to Switzerland. Take the gondola up. Panorama trail is already a very taxing 10k in length. Don't exhaust yourself before even starting it by trying to walk from Kandersteg to the Lake. We did walk down the last segment of the return gondola trip after the Lake, which was fun.

Great base for relaxing holiday with all the mountain...

Great base for relaxing holiday with all the mountain walking opportunities you could ever want. Adelboden and Kandersteg valleys right on doorstep and easy car trip to Grindelwald - Lauterbrunnen and all the attractions there. Bachalpsee above Grindelwald is absolutely worth the visit but expect a lot of tourists taking social media pics! But walk back to Grosse Scheidegg and back down to Grindelwald and you have it all to yourself…. Eagles, marmots, chamois, swallowtail butterflies and gentians galore. If it’s just a relax you want go to Faulensee on the Thunersee.

We have been coming to Kandersteg for years , as my parents...

We have been coming to Kandersteg for years , as my parents before. It is just right for a week or less. It is a quiet place with not much "action" , but a lot of possibilities around. Of course the must Oschienensee and the Blau see. Going up fureralp rebiels a fantastic vista . Kandersteg is about 45 minutes from Adelboden which has its own attractions , Than you have the possiblity to go to Interlaken and make trips or cruises on the lake . If you didnt do it already , a visit to Giessbach is a "must" I would also suggest lunch at the pittoresque Spiez (or Tun) If the weather allows you can take a trip with the funiculair on the Niesen

Venue is very secluded.

Venue is very secluded. This is meant for hikers and campers and not for families travelling place to place. The eating area is infested with flies that makes it very unhygienic. The room has no air-conditioning and the window has no grills and makes it unsafe to be left open with children. This caused us to sleep in a window shut room making it extremely hot in the summer with only a fan to provide ventilation. They have no hot water kettles to boil water for children

A very beautiful alpine town with beautiful views.

A very beautiful alpine town with beautiful views. Not too far from Zurich or Bern. Oeschinensee panoramic hike was amazing. We visited Blausee which is only 10 minutes by bus ride. There are plenty of hikes which we did not have much time to explore.

We traveled as 3 generations and there was something for all...

We traveled as 3 generations and there was something for all of us. We had so much fun and never even used our car. We loved the village and the hiking path along the river. The restaurant was very good. We also enjoyed the restaurant next door in the botanical garden and fish farm. We had a wonderful time and I would recommend this place to all families.
