I loved the room we stayed in! the hotel is right next to the lake, you can take 2 steps and see the gorgeous view right away! really close to two supermarkets as well and a lot of stores and restaurants!! really really recommend staying here!

The hotel’s location, view and friendly staff was exceptionally satisfying. Although we checked in late due to flight detail, a cold platter was ready on our arrival. The view from our room and the staff’s help for information were also perfect.

Montreux is a beautiful city on the banks of lake Geneva.
Montreux is a beautiful city on the banks of lake Geneva. It has magnificent views and a wonderful old-town feel.
We stayed just one night so we did not do much sight-seeing except to visit the statue of Freddy Mercury. Would like to come back and explore Chillon Castle.

Take the time to explore the shops along the Grand Rue.
Take the time to explore the shops along the Grand Rue. I especially enjoyed the La Consomm market which sold local products, and a well organized second hand shop on the western end of the street. Unfortunately the Paper museum was closed due to holiday while we were there. The balloon museum was small but interesting, especially the little area with videos telling the story of the Breitling orbits.

Carry a map/guide when visiting places of interest / shops. It's easier to get around with a friend and to travel with a taxi. Trains are available, but mostly when visiting areas nearby or larger locations. If you are not used to a cool to cold climate, take some warm clothes, especially if you are going to go hiking up the mountains - it can get pretty cold. Nearby attractions include Gruyères Castle, Gstaad, Glacier 3000 and especially Vevey, the closest area where you can experience Lake Geneva.

The Community of Veytaux is at an excellent location towards...
The Community of Veytaux is at an excellent location towards the east end of the Lake of Geneva. Although the community is small, you can do a lot from here.
The Chateau Chillon is in the political community of Veytaux. The chateau is impressive; and its visitors can learn a lot about the history of this region of Switzerland.
Further east, you can visit Villeneuve and can take a steamer boat cruise on the Lake of Geneva. - The Swiss Train Pass helps to save a lot of money when you use the trains, the boats, the gondolas, the busses, etc. throughout the country.
West of Veytaux is Montreux. You can enjoy the lovely community of Montreux alongside the lake, go up the Roches de Naye and enjoy the beautiful view over the Lake of Geneva, take trains in diverse directions (e.g., Gruyère, for the cheese factory tour, maybe combined with a tour at the chocolate factory of Caillier, the Golden Express yo Interlaken, etc.).
If you like train traveling, you can easily travel to Geneva and see the old town, visit the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, go up to Brig and see its old town or visit Briggerbad and its thermal bath and waterpark, or even go up to Zermatt if your an early bird and go upon the Gornergrat or up on the Small Matterhorn.
Veytaux is a place to stay at and see; and, it can "base camp" to see many more places in the greater region.
Just have the right train pass so that you can easily use the public transport network and comfortably travel to different sites of interest.
Eating out and enjoying your companionship while being served a good meal is possible as well.

The castle was an extraordinary experience. It brings us out of our common sense place.
Wonderful view at front side terrace of big tower, we enjoyed our evenings there.
Peaceful morning breakfast at our back terrace, surrounded by trees, perfect place for morning yoga meditations.
Beautiful room, large, a kitchen supported staying longer at the place. A nice table inside was great for the rainy days.

Montreux is a beautiful place with lovely mountain and lake views. The walk on the promenade is relaxing and the sight of colourful flowers next to the lake are different every season and so refreshing. There are lots of restaurants on the lake side. It’s a joy to sit and watch the sunset over the lake. Montreux is one of my favourite place and I love to visit every year.

Vevey is a lovely town on Lake Leman.
Vevey is a lovely town on Lake Leman. There is a very nice old town and a beautiful promenade along the lake. We were there mainly to visit the Christmas market in Vevey, which is not so big, and the Christmas market in Montreux which is very big.

A lovely little town in a superb Alpine setting.
A lovely little town in a superb Alpine setting. Outside often the loudest sound is the distant clangour of cow bells. Everyone there is really friendly, there are good options to eat out, the local trains give access to some great places, and if you stay more than one night (I think) you get a Pays d’en Haut discount card for reduced entry to various places (including the wonderful L’Etivaz cheese cellars) and free travel on local trains and buses.

Montreux was wonderful to visit and the traveler cards the hotel provides gives you free access to public transportation and sites along with discounts is a great bonus. We used the busses and trains multiple times a day. We went to the Charlie Chaplin Experience which is very worth your time. The Chillon Castle and the Freddi Mercury Experience walking tour should also be included during your visit. It was warm, I would even say hot so being able to walk out and cool yourself off in the lake was wonderful. The city was setting for the Jaxx Festival to the quay form the Freddi Mercury Statue south to the Convention Center was full of tent and stages. We were north of this area and were not affected, lake access was normal and view were not impeded, I can't say that for hotels in this section of the lake area.
Highly recommend this hotel.
