Comfortable bed, good shower and A/C worked well. Ample parking in the gravel driveway and a security gate at the front. Staff were very friendly and helpful and let me check in a bit early. Breakfast was excellent with eggs cooked to order, fresh fruit, good coffee and the usual bread, ham and cheese.

The hotel has a beautiful contemporary decor with a lot of personality. Everything was very clean and neat, including the bedrooms and common areas. The staff was nice, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. The view from the property is great, even though we didn’t book the ocean-view room. The Hostal was even more lovely than it appeared in pictures and we could see the ocean from our window. There was so much natural light during the day as well. The WiFi was perfect and never failed. The breakfast was abundant and wonderful— scrambled eggs, fresh baked Chilean bread, fruits, jams, cheese and ham, manjar, fresh juices and tea/coffee service. We loved visiting with the owners and the other guests, and everyone had recommendations to share with us regarding places to go and things to do— it was so helpful! At night and in the morning, we were able to self-serve coffee/tea and water and use the dining room to bring in outside food if we decided to eat in and make our own “tea time”. It felt like being at home! At the be of our stay, I realized I had left my passport in the room and I was traveling to the US the very next day but I had already taken a bus to Santiago. The owners arranged to bring my passport to me in Santiago the very next day! Their care and concern for us was genuine and sincere. It felt like family! I have already recommended the Hostal Cofa to many friends, near and far.

Staff were great even tho we didn’t speak much Spanish at all, they were patient and very helpful. This property is like being at a tranquil resort in the jungle, very beautiful and peaceful. The pools were clean and luxurious. The massages were good however I paid more for a “mixte” massage and it was not strong at all. My cousin got a facial that she loved. Breakfast was amazing but pre-set on the table which really increased food waste and I felt bad for not eating all of it. The WiFi was strong and the smart tv in the room was a plus. We could easily walk to the main square and the Pullman bus station within 15 minutes. There were also bikes you could borrow for free.

It was close to public transportation, and walking distance from Murals on the hills. Close too many restaurant choices, and public parks. The hotel was quiet and clean. The continental breakfast was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable and very quiet.

A unique and beautiful property with the most helpful and friendly staff. The property itself was everything I hoped for. Being on such a remote island, I wanted to feel close to nature and the glamping accommodations were better than I hoped for. I had a small time window to make this trip and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that this trip exceeded my hopes and expectations and that I could experience as much as possible on this bucket list trip. I don't really have any complaints. The site and staff were amazing and made this trip a once in a lifetime experience.

Loved the area near our hotel called Cerro Alegre felt very safe. Enjoyed walking around looking at the various art in the streets on stairs and walls. The area around the main bus station, Port and downtown we felt much more conscious of not having phones out and keeping bags close. Glad we weren’t staying there. Definitely wouldn’t walk around after dark in that area.

Vina del Mar is lovely!

Vina del Mar is lovely! It has a beautiful beach, great cafes and good shopping. It's a great place to slowdown and relax, and a great base to visit nearby Valparaiso from, using the Metro. Ola, Don Bono and La Brioche are excellent places for a coffee and bite to eat.

Somehow after living in Chile for a few years and being to many different beaches, no one had mentioned Algarrobo. Maybe its a hidden gem for expats? If so, now you know the secret. Cute town, great vibe. I hear it is very crowded in summer but its a great day trip or weekend trip from Santiago.

It is an unattractive town in a beautiful place. My main reason for stopping was to see the archeological museum, which had very good reviews. The town's web site lists it as an attraction, but it has evidently been closed for weeks or months. Nothing about opening hours or reopening date is posted outside. The web site also lists a tourist information center as open during the day, but it too was closed, and no new hours were posted.

Quaint, quiet and low key location.

Quaint, quiet and low key location. Limited dining options but perfect escape from chain hotels and tourist strips. Full of local families. Very friendly and felt safe. 2.5 hours by car from Santiago.

Hanga Roa was fascinating and interesting.

Hanga Roa was fascinating and interesting. It has 3 great large supermarkets, with just about anything you need. Many restaurants, for every taste, bakeries, gift stores, craft stores, Farmer's Market every morning,( a MUST!). The graveyard is also a very special place to see. There are several Ahu in Hanga Roa, as well as Ahu Tahai-a spectacular Ahu where people congregate at Sunrise and sunset every day.

It seems a bit rough round the edges, but the street art is amazing. Nice restaurants. Pablo Neruda's house a bit tricky to get to but totally worth it. 2 days is perfect. In April it was quiet, not many tourists.

Location right on the sea front was great.

Location right on the sea front was great. Also not far to a large supermarket. The man on reception tried so hard to help with the huge language barrier difficulty - a big thank you to him. Bedroom, bathroom, dining area with a view were all good. The non functioning oven was soon remedied by staff. Paying was a little more difficult, we eventually paid in local currency, but were owed change. We had to chase this up twice, was given 4000 with the promise of 1000 to follow - this didn't happen so we just wrote it off. The kitchen area was tiny. It was well equipped with cutlery, crockery etc but was Quite dangerous taking hot trays out of the oven with no where to put them. Difficult even to just make a sandwich in the space.

The town was small and quiet.

The town was small and quiet. If you're traveling during the week or off-season, it's important to know that many restaurants and businesses are closed. However, during the summer and weekends, more shops and businesses are open. If you're looking for a large bustling tourist destination, this is not it. However, if you want a small, quiet town away for the hustle and bustle, then Algarrobo is the place for you.
