Cátia and Eloi, who run the place, are 5-star! They're welcoming and go the extra-mile to make you feel at home. They also gave me a lift to São Filipe - which I very much appreciated. The hotel's location is right on top of a very calm bay, is great. Food was also great.

La Fora is beautiful and we loved looking out from our room to see all the plants, the staff are amazing, the team communicated constantly with us to help us arrange things, and the set dinner menus were so good. I have already recommended La Fora Ecolodge to all my friends coming to Fogo.

Unique stay and experience in the Fogo caldeira- family owned and operated and authentic. The staff were helpful and kind - they added to the experience. Think skies void of light pollution- perfect for star gazing (bring layers!), hikes and time free to take in the unique otherworldly landscape. If going to the caldeira, spending a night or 2 here is definitely recommended

Our stay at The View Hotel Cape Verde was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the owner personally greeted us and made us feel immediately welcome, setting the tone for the entire experience. That kind of personal touch is rare and made us feel like more than just guests. The restaurant staff were incredibly attentive, especially when it came to my son’s severe dairy allergy. They took the time to understand his needs, carefully explained what he could safely eat, and made sure he felt included and taken care of at every meal. As a parent, that level of awareness and kindness means everything. Our room was breathtaking. It was spacious, beautifully designed, and an incredible value for the level of comfort and quality. The view faces the Atlantic Ocean, and it is honestly hard to put into words. It feels as if you are floating in the clouds above the water, watching the horizon stretch endlessly. A fun and unique touch were the blue lights in the room that make neon colors glow. Anything neon absolutely pops, giving the space a cool, modern vibe. As a family of four, we even had our own little neon party at night. One of our favorite moments was relaxing in the infinity style jacuzzi. Sitting there together as a family and looking out over the ocean and the town below truly makes you feel like you are on top of the world. The food was exceptional throughout our stay. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Combined with the warm hospitality of everyone at the hotel, the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend trying the black caipirinha. If you are visiting São Filipe, this place is something special. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and already hoping to return.

Everything was perfect. The location and the view is spectacular, even better than the photos. And the staff went above and beyond with everything. We were treated so well. The food was also delicious. Would definitely come back!

I have stayed here twice and really enjoyed it. The views from the public terrace of Sao Filipe are stunning. I stayed in the luxury room 10 two nights and it was so beautiful with a very high ceiling, a full two door window that opens to purple bougainvillea and the same gorgeous view as the terrace. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have tried in my life, firm but still soft. The workers are nice and helpful if you need any help planning a trip to the volcano, etc. The owner is generous and kind and the atmosphere among the staff is comfortable. Breakfast is a fancy version of a typical Cabo Verde breakfast: white bread, boiled eggs, guava jelly, Fogo traditional cheese, papaya, etc. The location is in the heart of Sao Filipe and walking distance to all the restaurants and the black beach.

An absolutely wonderful stay, with great staff, delightful ocean-facing rooms, and a perfect pool with some bonus gray-headed kingfishers. 100% recommend.

Very well decorated and great property to stay on. They also provide the opportunity to book day trips to the vulcano on the island & other hikes. The pool is a great addition.

Superb service and great restaurant! They were helpful with my baby as well. We really enjoyed our stay!
