We absolutely LOVED our family stays here! Basic Hotel came with a nice breakfast, warm water, daily cleaning service, and they even folded our clothes! We also mentioned to them that we were headed on a day trip, to Santo Antao, and asked how breakfast worked on that day, because we had to leave early. They told us they would make us a breakfast package & they gave it to us the night before we left to Santo Antao. The Laginha Beach was only a 15 min walk, from the hotel, but they have quiet hours at 11pm; after being out all day, that was really easy, for our family. If you’re out past daylight, take a taxi home; even Cabo Verdean’s do it, because of the homeless people. Basic Hotel was basic & by no means perfect (couldn’t use the bathtub), but the basic hotel had a clean & safe environment, and made us feel very welcome. Other info: -The rivalry plays in the morning, which was funny to hear it live (not just an alarm tone). -In Mindelo supermarkets, we found bringing a physical card (with pin), was easiest, for CVE money. -Check in was no problem & we paid upon arrival. -We asked about parking, because we had a rental car for a few days, and there was a parking spot close by (maybe 20 steps away) & other spots within walking distance, too. -A supermarket was not far (maybe 5 min walking time), where we bought jugs of water (it’s recommended to use bottled water only, for consumption). -Fruits were bought in the big market hall (beautiful place) called Mercado Municipal Mindelo. -The hotel let us checkout early, gave us breakfast the night before (upon request), arranged a taxi for 5 (had cost 20 Euros total upon airport arrival) & - Use Google translate if you don’t speak Portuguese, with the free hotel wifi

My favorite thing about the hotel is its freshness as its is by the sea. Wide choice for breakfasts and soo delicious An appartement kind of room, so really spacious But the best of all is the staff there, omg them people are just amazing 😍 they’re super super nice and polite, understanding and always willing to help ! We’ve Got different kind of services during that long trip (15days in 🇨🇻) believe me when I tell you that Helder (one of the receptionist) is a Good one, big shoutout to him and his colleagues🙏🏽

This is a really comfortable place with kind, helpful staff and a good breakfast. The location is fantastic (just a few blocks from the beach) and my room was very cozy. The only issue is that the shower water was only mildly warm for a few minutes before just running cold. Good water pressure though.

Close to the airport, although even that they manage to mess up, by not providing convenient shuttle times. The shuttle leaves at set times, which are random, and dont match up to the international flight times. So you basically need to order a taxi for the 4 minute drive, and its expensive.

The staff at reception were wonderful. Always going the extra mile and offering exceptionally kind, accommodating service. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Great central location!

Loved the concept, helpful staff, nice breakfast. A bit cold at night because not completely isolated.

Location was perfect at downtown, everything is walking distance. Staff is friendly and helpful
