This place was such a pleasant surprise. Staff is great, they are very kind and paying attention to the needs. Dinner had a local taste. Breakfast is really the best value for money, I didn't expect such a wide variety of buffet. The room was spacious, bed comfortable for a couple & a toddler, and pleasantly warm. Thanks a lot for everything, we had a pleasant transit trip.

The Penzion-Apex is a good place to stay. The rooms are clean, the lady who runs the hotel is very nice. She does not speak any English, and that is a bit of a challenge! However, it can be overcome with modern technology now. We arrived late, she was there to meet us, and helped us arrange a cab the next day to take us to Loucim. She also really helped us through a bad experience. I left our passports in the room after we checked out. Late that day, I had to take a train down from Pilsen to get them. I messaged her, she had them in her possession, and held them until I could get there that night. She really helped me alot with that. Kdyne is a lovely city.

A super warm welcome awaited me when I arrived, the host was extremely friendly and we had a nice chat. It was even possible to store my bike on the patio rather than leaving it on the street. Unfortunately, I had to leave early in the morning so I couldn't take the opportunity to get some of the offered breakfast options. Downstairs there's a beautiful cafe, which closes early so at night everything is nice and quiet. The room and bed were clean to the last detail and I slept well. Absolutely recommended!

Very nice location at the main square, but the rooms were facing backwards to the castle, so it was rather quiet and we enjoyed the nice view. The rooms were very nice, the bed comfortable. The receptionist was very kind, allowing us to take our breakfast slightly later and to leave our luggage in the room on the last day.

This is a lovely town in its own right, though most people...

This is a lovely town in its own right, though most people will use it as a gateway to the greater Šumava region and the great outdoors. Transit connections are surprisingly good thanks to direct trains from Prague and Munich, albeit these tend to be somewhat chronically delayed. The historical center is a gem, and would definitely be worth spending a day just exploring the narrow streets and old buildings.
