"Toledo is a very old city and so it is very interesting architecturally. The narrow and winding streets are charming. It is a very walkable city, but it is very hilly which may be challenging for some. (But taxis are plentiful and cheap for the uphills!). I’d highly recommend a couple of days here, more if you plan to visit the many museums."

"Old town was beautiful and not too busy. Great miradors for photography. Fabulous cathedral and museum of treasures. Loved the modern art gallery in the hanging houses - some decent modern artworks for a change instead of the fatuous, vacuous, pretentious installations one often finds. Lots of walks around the town and river area"

"Honestly- we have been to 10 different places around Spain so far and this is our least favorite due to the fact we were not able to get in a rhythm there. In the hotel location many restaurants were closed due to covid and that information isn’t available till you are standing in front of the door. Even the hotel! No dining after breakfast/ no bar so no beverages available. ( normally ok but only store is the gas station) We went to see the ruins - was $15 to get there ( reasonable for location/ no Uber's so getting back was a struggle. We finally got a taxi - got back to the hotel and he charged $60! Said it was $15 each -($30) to go there empty- and get us … told the hotel to make them aware since it was the company they recommended."

"We didn’t know what to expect but there are some stunning historical buildings and some nice parks. The Palacio del Infantado and Museum had a beautiful courtyard decorated with hundreds of lion carvings. We also loved the Pantheon of the Duchess of Sevilla, though it was closed when we visited. You’ll have a better first impression if you arrive by bus than by Cercania (which is in a run down neighborhood and a 2-3 km uphill walk to the historic centre). If you stay near the historic centre, everything is within walking distance."

I had no idea this was part of a chain—the hotel is housed in a stunning 700-year-old building that has been beautifully transformed into what feels like a true five-star experience. Stepping inside is like entering a museum, but with all the modern comforts and luxurious amenities you'd expect. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, and the level of cleanliness is exceptional. The multilingual reception staff are welcoming and professional, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps away from the cathedral. A truly unique and memorable stay.

Rooms and bed are big and comfy. The bathroom has everything you need. The design of the rooms in general is quite beautiful. Silence makes it easy to sleep at night. The staff was helpful and very polite. The restaurant is very good, I definitely recommend booking a dinner or lunch. The pool and SPA was also a good experience. Perfect place to relax. Okay, so this is a spectacular location. The views are breathtaking. The castle is gorgeous, the town quaint. The canyons all around make it a real island. The breakfast is incredible, as is the dinner. I was looking for a room that would make me feel like I was staying in a medieval castle. This castle hits the nail on the head. I was enchanted from start to finish. I stayed in a small room in the tower with a curved ceiling. If you want a bigger room, choose the junior suite or a room not in the tower. Free parking right outside. Ask for the key to go up on the battlement, the views are out of this world.

Was a great stay, the room provides full privacy what was exactly what was searching for. Have a great bath tub (works perfectly) + private pull that are perfect and the organic breakfast amazing(they even adjusted it for our food restrictions and brought it fresh on the time we settled). There was also a small fridge and microwave in the room that allowed us to bring food to the room. Most of all, all staff respect our request for privacy, was an amazing stay for my partner and I.

Everything about our one night stay was lovely. Being in the castle was a magical experience and we loved the original stone features and quality furniture. Our room was spacious with a large luxury bathroom with walk in shower large enough for both of us! The food in both the terrace bar and restaurant was high quality and the staff in both were super attentive. All the hotel staff were polite and helpful.

The hotel is a beautiful setting, an old convent on a hill looking back into the historic town and hanging houses. The food was delicious - traditional and regional recipes for dinner, plus a great breakfast buffet. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. Staff were all very helpful. Yes prices are higher than other places, but totally worth it in our opinion.

If you want to eat great food and get a bird's eye from the Alcazar, go to the Military Museum and eat the delicious food they prepare there. The staff was very friendly. A memorable summer. Stroll through the streets of Toledo and look for a small coffee shop in the downtown area that sells the natillas o dessert made from sweet cheese in a small wooden container.

Cuenca is definitely worth a visit especially the old town for the history but is very hilly so you need to be fit. You can climb from the town to the bridge to cross into the old town. There are bars and restaurants too and stunning views over the new town. Theres a zip wire at the very top for anyone wanting adventure. There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops in the town centre so not short of somewhere to eat and drink

Almagro is a historical city with a 16th century feeling.

Almagro is a historical city with a 16th century feeling. Get lost walking its small streets (like Calle de las Bernardas). Enjoy its warm people, their traditions (like Las Cruces in May), their excellent wine (both white and red), and food (Manchego cheese or lomo de orza at the Restaurante de las Murallas). Spend time in the main square (Plaza Mayor) and visit the Corral de la Comedia (a historical theatre that competes with Shakespeare's Globe).

The town centre was quite compact and flat for pedestrians. There was no tourist office that we could find so we relied on leaflets from our hotel although there were a few good on line sites which gave good information. There were a few good winery shops on the outskirts of town where it was possible to buy the local wine direct from the producers. There are museums in the area that should be visited if you get the chance but most require a car journey. The main plaza was very well done and had a few cafes and bars around it but we didn’t enjoy the busy motor traffic.

I imagined myself in the Middle Ages and wondered what kind of resources and people they used to build such a structure back then! I admire the managers and engineers of that era, but the thought that they might have used captives to construct such massive buildings and that the city was born from people's suffering is quite upsetting.47789
