Great comfort of bed Exceptional empathy of the night receptionist (that kind man with glasses). We had an issue on the road and we finally arrived at 1am and departed 3 hours later to get our boat. The kind auditor prepared us a take-away breakfast and we enjoyed every bites of our breakfast This kind of gesture worth a billion when you are very tired. So to that kind night receptionist “MUCHISSIMAS GRACIAS por su ayuda”. You boosted us with your kindness 😊

I have stayed at the Neve twice this year, once with friends and most recently over half term with my wife and two children (12 & 15). Overall a perfect, owner run, family hotel. The hotel was apparently renovated 4 years ago but it feels brand new. Very stylish decor, comfortable lounge and bar area with open fire and the world’s most comfortable sofas. Well stocked bar and a great restaurant. Good size boot room with heated lockers to dry out and warm your boots. The spa is beautiful - indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi with views of the mountains, steam room, sauna, massage room and a relaxation room. There’s also a small gym with a few free weights, bike and treadmill. It saw more use than I’d expected. Certainly a winner for our 15 year old son. Rooms are all quite different. We had a Suite which proved really useful as a place to gather everyone together in the morning. Lots of space to hang up ski wear, helmets etc. The kids had a twin room which was well proportioned for their needs. Beds are lovely, daily serviced and have everything you could need.

The hotel has the amenities, as free WiFi, a fitness center, and a spa. The kitchenette had everything you could think of, including a fridge, wine fridge, stovetop, microwave, and sink. The location of the hotel is also great. It was close to many restaurants and stores, so we could easily find everything we needed. There were also plenty of places to visit and things to do in the area.

Flaine is a brilliant resort, particularly for families.

Flaine is a brilliant resort, particularly for families. Our only compliant is that a number of runs were closed and lifts had stopped working even though the snow coverage was excellent. It was the last week of the season so the resort was winding down but the lift pass costs remained the same even though many of the lifts were out of use. The cost of the lift passes should have been discounted. On one day we found ourselves forced to take our young children down a long red run as the lift to the blue run was unexpectedly closed half way up the mountain.

Beautiful, charming ski resort.

Beautiful, charming ski resort. A few restaurants around the square, I know of the pizza place as it has an outside pizza vending machine that does lovely pizza’s. Some gift shops as well as a carrefour and grocery shops, bakery, cafe. In the town there are two nursery slopes with magic carpets. Plenty of different types of accommodation at different price levels. The town has a swimming pool further along the road, there is a child’s place area just off the square.

First time in Samoëns and we really enjoyed it.

First time in Samoëns and we really enjoyed it. The village has has a really nioce traditional vibe (Felt like a really small Chamonix) The Free bus is great, although took a couple of days to figure out the quickest colour to get to the lift station. There is a big Carrefore just outside the village as well as a small Sherpa supermarket near the centre. The main negative is how hard it was to eat out. Nearly everywhere we went to was fully booked...you must book your tables ahead of time otherwise you will trail around the village to try and find somewhere to eat. The skiing was great, even with no new snow the pistes were in great condition and there is a wide variety of terrain for all levels, however Le Grand Massif area is very busy, even mid week.

Morillon 1100 is a great place to ski.

Morillon 1100 is a great place to ski. The lifts take you straight to the top of the Grand Massif. This year snow was scarce in 1100 but we have skied through in previous years and it has been snow-sure. Plenty to do for intermediates on short breaks.

Flaine is excellent for skiing, especially for beginners.

Flaine is excellent for skiing, especially for beginners. It is high so you are relatively guaranteed snow, when lower resorts are still green. Although it is pretty ugly, it is purpose built so everything is well set up for families or beginners to commence their skiing journey

Samoens is a delightful place, the centre of which is easy and pleasant to walk around. There is a good choice of restaurants and cafes offering a wide range of catering options. Access to the skiing area is easy via the cable car which in turn is serviced by a comprehensive bus service which appears to be completely free.
