"4 days were enough to visit Annecy and rest of lakes Village.
We highly recommend to visit during July as the buses are free during July-August. It allowed us to travel all around Annecy and other villages, freely and at any time.
We also took the Cruise that offers the possibility to stop at any village and wait for the way back to Annecy - we stopped at Duingt, visited the village and came back by bus.
We rent a pedalo, after taking the bus to Annecy le vieux, it was perfect and took another bus to La Brune Plage who was less crowded and so beautiful."

"The small town is charming and very beautiful. Easy walk anywhere, tons of restaurant options, lots of great shops. An option for every budget.
Food is very tasty and there are lots of alternatives for different tastes. Definitely recommend the hike to Mont Blanc Ice Caves, the caves, taking the gondola and the train down.
Walking down from the mountain top can be a little brutal on your feet as there are lots of rocks and surface is very uneven. Going up is no problem. For a great French cuisine experience try Josephine’s restaurant !"

Only compliant I have, is during my visit the cable car was closed for 2 weeks due to maintenance. So that was disappointing. I was really looking forward to being able to see the whole city."

"The photos of this hotel do not accurately reflect the rooms, which were small, dark, dingy, with chipped paint and a small out of date shower. The restaurant had plastic chairs and tables. It does face the lake, but the rooms are over priced. When we complained management said to booking dot com that we did not show, evidently not true. Would not recommend this hotel."

"I had 4 days at the end of my long vacation to choose a new place close to Geneva airport to stay before heading home. There were a few options (Thonon, Gex, Lausanne) but I chose Evian for size (not to big) and proximity to Lake and Mountains. Lake Geneva is beautiful, especially on a sunny day and a great place to walk. There’s not a lot of shopping, so you wouldn’t come here to do that but there are enough restaurants and cafe’s for a short stay. There is also the Casino, Evian Spa and aquatic complex for people who are interested in those things. If you have a car it’s only 30mins to Abondance and 45 minutes to Morzine which are both cute mountain villages where you can do walks in the summer and skiing in the winter. This is also the home of Evian water so a little history to learn and explore. There is great local food products and wine. You can also take the ferry across the Lake to Lausanne to visit the Olympic Museum or visit the town itself. If you are heading to Geneva you should drop into the small historic town of Yvoire for a few hours and maybe have lunch at one of the several restaurants."

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, thanks to the exceptional team. From the warm welcome by the staff outside the doors to the efficient reception and helpful concierge, which were at my service almost 24hr and always supported with any request, every interaction was pleasant. The frequent shuttle service to the city center was a huge plus, making it easy to explore. I also appreciated the convenience of having a ski rental store within the hotel and the seamless service to the sister hotel, which provided direct access to the ski entrance. The sauna was great

I truly enjoyed my stay at Auberge du Père Bise. The setting is absolutely beautiful, but what made the experience even more special was the staff, who are always attentive and genuinely caring. Dining at Restaurant Jean Sulpice is a must—it really elevates the stay and makes it even more memorable.

We had only planned a short trip with a focus on the Aiguille du Midi (which was amazing) but loved the town (we could walk everywhere). The food we had a various restaurants was all excellent. Even at the peak summer season it did not feel too crowded, which was surprising. Now we wish we had planned longer there but we will be back.

The centre of Annecy is charming, with many old buildings...
The centre of Annecy is charming, with many old buildings and a network of canals. It is very busy (at least in July) but much of the centre is pedestrianised which helps get around. From Annecy there is a convenient (if very crowded) local bus to a nature reserve, the Pic de Chere, with wonderful views of Lake Annecy and the mountains on the other side. I didn't have a chance to try out the swimming opportunities but there are small beaches all round the lake, again accessible by local bus from the centre.

Grenoble is a pleasant university town, a valley town tucked in the Rhone Alps hills; about an hour north east of Lyon. Many nice places to walk to, no need for a car. Restaurants are resonably priced and not over bling bling.
One noticeable feature the city suffers from are homeless people. Similar to Nantes, more local government management and police enforcement is needed for this problem and for the vandalism to cars, especially to those outside of the department and the country. Like Paris, it's becoming more and more a problem for residents and visitors.

We loved the peaceful atmosphere of Les Houches and the beautiful mountain views. It was a great base for exploring the Chamonix Valley, enjoying scenic walks, and taking in the stunning alpine scenery. Our accomidation was the star of the show as we stayed in Bonelle by Emerald stay and returning each day to such a lovely apartment made the experience even better. The apartment was spacious, spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything our family needed for a comfortable stay.I would definetly come back to stay with Emerald stay if not in Chamonix then in their many destination homes across the alps and Spain . I could´nt recommend them enough .

Driving up there was scary, but the village was nice.
Driving up there was scary, but the village was nice. We went to Bzzz Fast & Fab - Restaurant for a late lunch when nothing else was open and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. She recommended Le Chamois for dinner which was also great.

The reason for stopping there in the first place were the Forts and the old city (Vauban) of Briancon. Given its a ski resort the town is not sure what it is. @ 1200m its a cocktail of different architectural styles with the old town the only remnant of any true genuine alpine feel. As the highest administrative town in France, abandoned by the military 15 years earlier and the boom of skiing in the 70/80's its a bit of a mess. Construction every creating apartment doubtless for the boom the 2030 Olympics. Unless traveling onto the Mongenevre you could miss the whole experience, however if going to Grenoble once past the Serre-Chevallier chalet compendium the road is a true joy up to the pass and beyond. Would I go there again yes the walking is fabulous and well worth the stopover.

What surprised us most was how welcoming and relaxed it felt. Rather than being a formal or exclusive resort, it had a warm, comfortable atmosphere that made us feel at home. Even in July, the weather was pleasantly cool and perfect for spending time outdoors.
The breathtaking scenery, charming restaurants, and lovely souvenir shops made it an ideal place to slow down and simply enjoy the surroundings.
It was one of those rare places that we never wanted to leave.

Unfortunately, I only stayed for a night, but I had the chance to walk around the city and it is really beautiful. There are amazing shops, delicious and varied restaurants, and interesting places to visit like museums. The public transport works really well.

Stunning architecture, centre ville - a lot of improvements being made. Large range of restaurants and shops all walkable.
Lac Bourgot offers a relaxed ambience and plenty to do on and off the lake.

Bourg is a great location, cheaper than up in the resorts...
Bourg is a great location, cheaper than up in the resorts with a good selection of shops and bars. The funicular runs very regularly to get you up to Arc 1600, and if you don't want to walk to the funicular from the town in boots with gear, you can rent a locker next to the lifts in 1600.
Ski-roc does great food, always have the carbonara a couple times a visit but the pizzas are great as well. Esmi had great food also, tried the chicken, sesame salad which was very tasty, loads of veg with a rice base.
The new bar in town Iseran Kfe (previously the Stella bar) was very friendly and our goto for a beer.
