United KingdomHotel is part of a camping and caravan park area but that didn’t take away from a warm welcome feel you sometimes you don’t get at a larger hotel. It was clean and friendly, the rooms were spotless and a really good size.
WiFi worked and good coverage, plenty of car park spaces. Staff were warm and friendly.

The island was smaller than expected.
The island was smaller than expected. Not all Gavin and Stacey locations were open. I was surprised by the lack of traditional pubs. Great pizza place called Valletta. Wouldn’t recommend the good shed, the food wasn’t good and it was expensive. Easy to walk around Barry and the island, but remember you are in wales so there will be hills.

Large room, very clean.
Large room, very clean. Spa is really large and my treatment was so good- would certainly make time if I returned for a half or full day spa next time. Food ordered in bar (bangers and mash) really tasty. Staff friendly and also efficient.

A pretty little town with plenty of shops, pubs and eateries. We visited the Physic Garden and a nearby castle, both within walking distance of the hotel. There were very beautiful buildings in the area.

I was in llantwit Major visiting friends and family as I lived in llantwit for 50 years.
It is a lovely town, has loads of history and is a very pretty area as is all the Vale of Glamorgan.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.
Many lovely beaches along the coast, from Barry Island to Porthcawl. Cardiff City is 30 minutes drive from Llantwit and is a beautiful city.

We were there to visit family in St Athan so spent most of our time there. Our stay at 2 Stable Cottages was lovely and we would definitely go back. Priscilla was lovely and the home made cake and milk were very much appreciated. The little house was lovely and so peaceful. Loved our stay there

Amazing place to stay.
Amazing place to stay. The cleanliness was brilliant and everything you need was there. Good location. Peaceful and very tidy outside area with plenty of parking space. Not far from Cardiff and other locations for trips out without being in the hustle and bustle of a big city. Excellent stay just wish it had been for longer. Very dog friendly which was lovely for our little one. Good local cafe and pub in walking distance. We will be back next time we travel down to Wales.

Hosts were really friendly. Welcome pack was a nice extra touch.
Cottage was cosy (even in January!) and had everything we needed.
Location was great with lovely walks on the doorstep, and a pub with good food right next door.

As this is my hometown I am somewhat biased in favour of Barry. When I visited our beautiful sandy beach at Barry Island during the recent hot weather I realised that it was mainly locals enjoying the beach and the funfair. This is such a shame as Barry has good road and bus and rail connections. There are some good cafes near the beach and fun arcades and rides to enjoy. Marco's cafe is always popular as are the fish and chip shops. There are other nearby coastal attractions that are quieter such as the Knap and Porthkerry Park so if you come here do your homework and you will never be short of places to visit.

The hosts are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.
The property is lovely and very clean.
I would definitely recommend this property if you are look for peace and quite but close enough for a city break.

Beautiful place ,great location,bad points door was hard to open and close ,heater wasnt working properly and very little wood Staff did sort this straight away ,Wi-Fi didnt work ,would definitely go back come home feeling relax and happy with my stay
