Very central, so that everything is within walking distance. Very professional staff. The room was very large, perfectly clean and extremely comfortable. Coffee, tea, biscuits, crisps and beverages were offered by the hotel. When I checked out they graciously kept my luggage in storage for a few hours.

The most enjoyable and perfect cottage that we have ever stayed in. The hosts were wonderful, the premises were pristine, historic and very comfortable, and the food and drinks were spot on. It was in a quiet village and easy to find and access. Everything was perfect and that is a rarity. We had dinner the night before at their sister hotel and restaurant. It was more lively, which was nice and the food was a nice farm to table experience.

Lytham St Annes offers plenty for children to do and the cost is not exorbitant, as in many other seaside resorts. The people we met were really friendly & helpful. We hired a beach hut for the day, which was great fun - but it would have been better if there were more areas which gave access to the beach.

We were walking distance of our Inn to the centre of town, didn't have to take the car, but beware, the drivers think they're at the race track. Lots of restaurants and cafe's tried many of them but the stand out was Vincenzo Cafe in the Nicks Centre, fabulous breakfasts and the cakes were great, sadly didn't have lunches there didn't have room after the breakfast but the lunch menu looked fantastic. If you want to visit the Museums don't try mid week , the "Council", in their wisdom, have closed them, not good for older people trying to avoid the weekend crowds.

Have never visited Preston before - and have no reason or desire to return. Was simply a stop-over. I didn't like what we saw of the town, which admittedly was very little and mostly the centre High Street. Blatant drug dealing in public. Whatever character the place possessed, has been ruined by modern architecture, so sad to see lovely old buildings abandoned and ruined and all the money spent on out of town shopping centres and roads. Although we did find a lovely Italian restaurant.

Morecambe is a beautiful town with so much regeneration in recent years. It is a lovely spot for a long weekend visit suitable for all the family. Heysham is a lovely nearby village worth a visit for the day as well with a lovely coastal walk and beach. Along the waterfront in Morecambe there are parks and activities (free!) for the kids from one end to the other. You can walk up the pier and have a play on the beach (note though that the tide goes out really far so don't expect to play in the water - the beach at Heysham is a bit better for this). Lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. And a wonderful second hand bookshop - The Old Pier Bookshop - that is a must visit for us every time we're there!
