We had one of the top floor apartments which was absolutely beautiful- spacious, clean, modern with stunning views of the bay. It’s probably the loveliest location on the island. The downside of the location is that it’s quite isolated without a vehicle and there were no rental bikes available. The local bus only runs a few times a day and the nearest supermarket is about 50 minutes walk away so bring supplies with you. Being early in the season didn’t help as the hire boats were not operating and a local taxi tour for just 2 people was too expensive. There are hire cars available but the cost for an automatic car was also very expensive. Although we were picked up from the ferry we had to organise a taxi to catch our 6am ferry to Dubrovnik on departure. I’d recommend the local taxi driver Ante who turned up as arranged and on time which was a relief. Overall however we enjoyed our stay on the beautiful island Lastovo and were very happy with this beautiful apartment.

My child enjoyed the place, our pet too, it was perfect for a comfortable, relaxing vacation by the sea. Also, which is still quite unfrequent in Croatia, in a modern (not renovated), lovely, thoughtfully built and furnished place.

Unspoilt, peaceful, beautiful - the downside - one...
Unspoilt, peaceful, beautiful - the downside - one restaurant within walking distance (40 minutes), one cafe, one supermarket three miles away and not very inspiring if you plan to cook for yourself. Having a car gives you acess to more beaches and restaurants. Appealing to nature lovers.

Since I am a little bit spoiled by the island of Mljet, I had set my expectations high. The biggest compliment that Lastovo could get from me is that is like Mljet, although I must say that if you are looking for even more relaxed experience, Lastovo is the island for you. Of course, we did not visit everything there, we save it for future visits. The nature, the forest, THE NIGHT SKY, monuments, the city of Lastovo, everything was beautiful, but the view from the lighthouse and helipad was breathtaking. Prices - wherever you come from, here you multiply by 2. If you are a dog owners - no problem, they will be chasing a lot of cats :)

The island is small enough to get to know quite well - we had no car but hired a taxi to take us on a drive to the main sites. We were able to walk to Lastovo town: there is no shop in Zaklopatica, which we weren't expecting. But there are nice walks through the woods around the village, some quite challenging and steep! We took a boat trip to Saplun beach and had a great day out. Then we spent the last night at the Hotel Solitudo in Passadur so as to be near Ubli for an early ferry. The hotel was great and the whole area of Passadur lovely.
