The food was amazing! Try to get dinner here. The chefs have very creative minds and use local ingredients. They also pay good attention to allergies and were able to accommodate my shellfish allergy as well as me being pregnant.
The room was very comfortable and the scenery was beautiful. It was our favorite place that we stayed while biking from Vienna to Budapest.

I stayed for one night while attending a wedding. The room was huge with plenty of amenities. The breakfast had a good spread and was nicely filling. The hotel is conveniently located along the main road within walking distance of the various restaurants and attractions in this quaint little town.

The facilities are modern, clean and well appointed. It was a perfect place to stay as we continued on our bike trip. We all enjoyed the large waterpark and saunas.
The meals were quite good. We particularly appreciated that the resort provided both dinner and breakfast.

It would be nice to have some quiet background music (from the 60s, for example) during dinner - as other similar hotels do !

Esztergom is a beautiful historical town.
Esztergom is a beautiful historical town. People are friendly here, as in most of Hungary. Excellent shopping and dining options. Sometimes there is a problem with parking down in the city. Very good parking options around the basilica.

LOT'S OF HISTORICAL PLACES. DYNAMITE. THE SIGHTSEEING BUS WHAT A GREAT IDEA, HOWEVER ONLY RUNS ON WEEKENDS. THE REST OF THE WEEK IS JUST PARKED AT A PARKING LOT. WHAT A WASTE. DURING THE WEEK, MAY NOT HAVE THAT MANY PEOPLE, BUT THEY COULD HAVE RUN IT AT LEAST 2 TIMES A DAY. ONE AT MIDDAY, ONE AT IN THE AFTERNOON. THE TOWN SHOULD HAVE A OPEN AIR SHUTTLE BUS FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE. NOT EVERYONE CAN WALK FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. NICE PLACE , GOOD WIBE.

I absolutely loved this property!
I absolutely loved this property! The owner was incredibly helpful and always available whenever we needed assistance. It was immaculate and cozy, the location was ideal, and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing. Every facility exceeded my expectations.

There wasn't too much to see or live in Zebegény. We couldn't find a restaurant that wasn't pub-like at all. The free beach is just an empty area with minimal services (a single buffet car).

Esztergom is not a big city and it gives opportunities for...
Esztergom is not a big city and it gives opportunities for travelers to walk to most of the sights. The importance of the city on the Danube was high and it is rich in history. The seat of the head of the Hungarian Catholic church is in Esztergom and the cathedral is stunningly beautiful with a cafe in the dome part, which provides uncomparable view of the city and the surroundings.
I would visit again if I have opportunity!

Visegrad is a very quiet and rural area and is well suited to those seeking a restful and quiet holiday. The visitor map is quite out of date as the brewery and winery shown are no longer there or open. walking/hiking seems to be the most reason for people to visit the area for its beautiful scenery and hill walks.

Sturovo is directly across the Danube from touristy...
Sturovo is directly across the Danube from touristy Esztergom in Hungary and it is very plain in comparison. Being in Slovakia it is a cheaper place to stay or to shop.
The centre of the town is very quiet in the evenings with just some dimly lit bars and few places serving food.
This part of Slovakia is very run down with many buildings abandoned and in advanced decay. The lanes around the town are despoiled by rampant fly tipping on an industeial scale.

Zebegeny, is a beautiful little village , pretty much un touched by time, set on the banks of the Danube. Adequate facilities, a few nice shops/bars, glorious hilly countryside, lots of tracks for walking, and cycling. Peace, beauty, and tranquility, like going back in time, and only an hour from Budapest on the train

With the basilica looming above it, there's a real sense of history about this town. Very filmic atmosphere. Lovely river frontage and great cycleways and walkways. The town square has its own wishing well fountain a la Trevi.
it's close by train to Budpest and definitely worth a weekend or more stay
