"Had a wonderful adventure on Inishmore. While small, the people were warm and welcoming. Climbing Dum Aengus was one of the best things we’ve ever done- though not easy - worth it! The food at The Bar was very good and the owner very lovely. Found food all over Ireland to be vastly better than previous trips. Enjoy - life is short- play hard🙃"

This was an Elopement Getaway and our first trip to both The Aran Islands and to Ireland, so we wanted to make the most of our time by staying in "The Best" 5 star resorts, castles, Airbnbs and Aran Walkers Lodge! Without hesitation, I can say Aran Walkers Lodge was our favorite stay and "picture perfect" from the moment we checked in until we checked out! Much like the magnificent landscapes, warm welcoming people, delicious food, the historical pubs castles and monuments on Inis Mor, our stay at Aran Walker's Lodge was exactly what comes to mind when I think of Ireland! The view from the lodge is stunning and the location of the property is a beautiful bike ride away from everything we wanted to see (Wormhole, Dún Aonghasa, The Seal Colony, the Sweater Market and much more)....They even provide the bikes for a small fee (much easier and economical than renting from the pier). Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and quaintly decorated, the complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the owner Sean was welcoming and helpful- he advised us on walks, transport and places to eat. THE perfect host! And, Julia...what an absolute gem this beautiful and brilliant girl is! The care, kindness and extra effort she put into any request we had made it feel like we were staying with family...To think she is a volunteer is unbelievable to me. We cannot Thank you enough for turning our dream Ireland Elopement into reality!

Our host Aine was warm and welcoming when we arrived. Our room was spotless, with excellent comfortable beds, spotless ensuite, tea, coffee and water supplied in our room. There is a lovely common well-stocked kitchen/ dining area with views out to the water. Though breakfast is not advertised, we were to be able to make a lovely breakfast with the bread, fruit, milk and coffee supplied. Aine had lots of advice about lovely Inis Oirr, and we very much appreciated her kindness and hospitality.

Location was great. Property was immaculate. Hosts were wonderful. Travelled with my wife and son as a birthday gift for my wife. A welcome basket complete with a birthday cake was waiting for us. We were greeted by Patrick who gave us a briefing on heating etc. and left us to it. We had such a lovely time and couldn't recommend the property and hosts more. Property had everything we needed for our stay.

Inis Mor is a little peace of heaven. Its magical. 1 or 2 nights recommend. Bike hire is a must, with plenty of choice. Iasc fish and chips are fab and Joe Wattys for evening meal is top class. If you have children, the glamping pods are a great choice.

Kilronan is a great location and the site is very well laid out. We had a couple of issues with no hot water which was sorted out and some maintenance issues but overall enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again as it is so accessible and has lovely friendly staff who attended to all our needs when asked.

Excellent property and fantastic hosts. Great communication when I had an email query. Lovely extras like milk and bread in the fridge when we arrived. Absolutely spotless property and very well equipped. The bathrooms were lovely and there was plenty hot water. Lots of space, it's a huge house! Plenty entertaining space. Great island, can be done in a day if you have good weather but that's hard to guarantee! The lighthouse is quite a walk so if you're on foot and don't mind skipping it you will be able to comfortably do the rest on foot. Cycling makes it much easier but be prepared to tackle some small but steep hills! If you want some time to relax as opposed to exploring, there are a few things to occupy yourself like the excellent beach, the spa and the two pubs. Ferries between islands are weather dependent so hard to plan ahead - inter island ferries didn't run for the entire duration of our stay.

We were able to stay for two days and it was so special to see the island when it was quiet. Be sure to plan out food (e.g., cooking - the kitchen is well stocked! Or early dinner). This stay is perfect- you won’t regret it!

Such a beautiful island. Peace, nature, wildlife, beautiful hand knitted aran jumpers in the shops, good food and friendly local people. There are horses and carts that will take you round the island. What a way to travel! Loved my time there.

HIking and Biking are the feature of this island; take your time and look at the flowers, the antiquities, the shrines. Visit the cafe, the pub, etc. People are relaxed and welcoming. We visited after the tourist season and it seemed perfect. We had rain gear (poncho/rain pants) so nothing was daunting in October to us.

A shorter list such as tidy up after cooking and that emptying bins and removing shoes to protect floors and general things not a long check list for a cleaner to do and insyring a drop of milk is there for guests as the shop may be closed on arrival also if we had of know this we would have got bits before arrival so advising guests to be prepared be great

To get a feeling for the island you should really stay more than a few hours. We stayed overnight so and got to chill in the local bar, enjoy the restaurants. Was fantastic place to wander around and experience every type of weather and the views are breath taking. There are 3 main bars/restaurants that wont see you go wrong. A pint of Guinness is a must. There are a variety of tea/coffee shops serving home made scones and baked goods. getting around is so easy either through bike hire (10 euro per day) or on one of the horse and cart trips. The island is a little hilly but very easy to walk about. Highlights include the beach, plassy ship wreck, light house and the castle. A trip to the aran islands would not be complete with out a purchase of some aran knitwear.
