This was one of the most thoughtful accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. They were so mindful of our experience and went above and beyond to make our visit special. This was our first night in Ireland after a long night of traveling and they helped us check in early, ensure we were fed delicious homemade food, and answered all our questions.

The hotel is beautifully presented and well maintained. The staff could not offer any more assistance than they did, always going that extra which makes the difference when deciding if we are willing to go back. I could not recommend this hotel more and will definitely be going back but for a longer stay.

I stayed there because my parents used to live just outside of the town and the hole family returned to reunite are mum with my dad who is buried there, a lot of the town has sadly closed down and there’s and there’s not a lot to do or see during the day every thing is closed and it’s hard to get anything to eat or drink.

Mountmellick is a quiet town.

Mountmellick is a quiet town. It offers some sites and history (founded by Quakers), but more importantly if you are staying there, the area is well sited for day excursions to other sites. It is a quiet, mostly farming community.

We were there for the annual Steam Rally-- the largest in the country. It was very well attended with lots of exhibits including stationary engines, cars and motorcycles. The Cosby estate is superb and exhibits the Irish countryside at its best . The shops in the village are excellent.

We wanted to stay near Rathdowney as we did research at the library regarding ancestors. We booked at the Ashbrook Arms in Durrow. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. The Ashbrook Arms is absolutely lovely. The property had been a carriage house in the last century. Beautifully restored, and the owners are kind and helpful. We enjoyed an evening at Bob's Pub across the street. Enjoyed the locals dancing and singing. The town is beautiful and walkable. The Durrow Castle and the local parks are a must see. Durrow is a memorable part of our tour of IRELAND.

I was there for an event in the Midlands Hotel which was lovely. . Portlaoise, as a town, would not be a place I would recommend to a long-term visit. However, there are some nice pubs. Lovely food in Jeremiah Grants. Sally Gardens is a nice pub for a friendly drink. The town would be a nice stop-off on the way to southern or western Ireland.

The apartment was fully furnished with high end sofas, beds, bed linen, towels etc. The heating was on a timer and came on throughout our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and they had even left coffee, tea, sugar etc. It was a two minute walk to The Heritage Hotel which we ate in (gorgeous food) and there are plenty of lovely walks in the area. The apartment even has a lift! A beautiful apartment to stay in. We will definitely be back again soon.

Abbeyleix seems to exist in a timewarp - in the best possible sense. Absolutely charming little town with the friendliest inhabitants. Morrisey's Bar was one of the most atmospheric places imaginable - it was like stepping back in time.
