"Such charm and character. Lovely to have a pedestrian street and small boutiques. Some cracking olde world pubs and many cafe's have outdoor seating. Ate in some super restaurants and well priced for the quality of the food served."

Very pleasant smooth check-in with Siobhan. Room very comfortable with large bath and lots of TV options. Welcoming, professional, friendly service from all staff in the bar and dining room made it a pleasure to drink and dine there. Varied menu with options for everyone. Food to excellent standard. No need to go looking for a restaurant - it's all here! Too many friendly, accommodating and professional staff to mention here. Most impressive service. I travel a lot up and down the country and it's been a long time since I encountered such excellence. I will return again and again and highly recommend to everyone.

Dunbrody House Hotel is like taki g a step into history. It is full of antique furnishings...beautiful gardens, and with modern accents. The tranquity was wonderful. It was peaceful and quiet, which was just what we wanted. It is set well into quiet parkland and forrest, the birdsong was spectacular. Food was also excellent, and the staff were lovely too. The room is amazing. Very new. Big. Super comfortable bed. Very quiet. Internet is very good. Absolutely nothing wrong to say. Except the dinner closed at 8pm and we were 30’ late because 45’ delay on arrival with Irish ferries. But we managed to find something just 1km from the hotel. Super friendly staff. Great quality/value and free brekkie 👌🏼

Quiet, comfortable bed, huge room, friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast was delicious- really well done. Croissants, yogurt with granola parfait, cereals, juices. In addition to that, there was a menu for made to order- full Irish, porridge with honey, eggs on toast, pancakes. We stayed because our ferry arrived late- we’d been in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany for 3 weeks. This hotel was the best value, and best breakfast of the trip and was really comfortable- great linens, large bed and a good mattress. The staff was great too. Highly recommend.

Lots of characterful pubs and restaurants. Can recommend La Cote, Crust & The Old Granary (Van Kaats tapas). We visited Dunbrody Famine Ship, Irish National Heritage Park, Ros Tapestry, Waterford (crystal factory and the medieval museum). Did Rib Ride at Kilmore Quay around the Saltee Islands (Saltee Sea Safaris), visited Hook Lighthouse which is unique, did Wexford River Cruise more than once!

Our biggest complaint is that there is no transport from the ferry to the hotels in Rosslare. We were very surprised at this since a lot of work has been done there since our last visit 2 years ago. You'd think there'd be taxis, bus or some vehicle/transport from the ferry boat to the centre of Rosslare Harbour.

We arrived in the middle of the gorey summer festival and what a time to arrive. What a weekend and an amazing destination. They don't call it the sunny south East for nothing. Amazing time, short trips to other places to have a ball and lovely people. I spent my childhood in this area and it only changed for the better. Will definitely be going back. First visit in 15 years

Quaint and picturesque town on the pleasant river Slaney steeped in Irish History. Enniscorthy was the scene of the 1798 rebellion where the united Irishmen took their last stand on the summit of Vinegar hill overlooking the town. The Castle and the 1798 visitors centre are worth a visit if you are interested in history as is the Father Murphy centre at Boolavogue. Nice beaches close by, greyhound racing, and traditional Irish pubs which are good for a sing song! Enjoy!

The cleanliness is superb. The only downside is we dont have a private toilet/ shower room. Maybe if you travel with group this is okay because you dont mind sharing with your group. We have kids so its kinda difficult when we dont have our private toilet. It was my fault because i didnt read that the toilet facilities are shared

Although you can see efforts to make the town nice such as flowers, it really is a dreadful town. Lots of poorly maintained/derelict buildings, The restaurant we went to was not very clean and a couldn't care less attitude from staff. Food was just ok. It's a shame because the hinterland is beautiful. I would not recommend New Ross as a place to visit, even for 5 minutes.

What were your favourite places there?

What were your favourite places there? Curracloe Beach was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit. The beach is beautiful, clean and spacious, and the surrounding area has a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. We also enjoyed the welcoming local community, who were exceptionally kind and helpful. Where did you eat? We mainly ate at the restaurant near the hotel and picked up food and snacks from the nearby Centra. There are only a limited number of dining options within walking distance, so visitors without a car should plan meals in advance, especially in the evening. Is it easy to get around Curracloe? Heck no, not without a car. This was the biggest challenge of our trip. Public transport is very limited, taxis are extremely difficult to find, and ride-hailing services such as Uber are unreliable. Uber kept on trying for 30 minutes before giving up and refunding the money - twice. If possible, travel by car or arrange transport in advance. A seasonal shuttle between the hotel, the beach and Wexford town would make a huge difference for visitors. What are some great activities for families with young children like yours? Curracloe Beach is perfect for families, with plenty of space for children to play, build sandcastles and enjoy the sea. Walking through the nearby dunes and nature reserve is also worthwhile. Just be prepared for the hard, twisty walk to the beach if you're not driving, as it may be challenging with younger children or pushchairs. The road is narrow with almost no place for pedestrians.

It's quite central and a good location to get to other parts of Wexford and Waterford. Pretty location by the sea with good accommodation such as the Marsh Mere Lodge and the Kings Head pub providing a good evening meal. Visiting The Hook and it's famous lighthouse, Booley Bay and other stopping off sites is a very pleasant drive from Arthurstown.

Our first evening dinner (11 people) we booked in the lobster pot Restaurant and the second evening in Mary Barry‘s Seafood restaurant, both was enjoyable. If I had to pick one, I would pick Mary Barry…. Both restaurants needs to be pre-booked. We spent a couple of hours out in Curracloe beach, it was spotless with proper Services available. Due to bad weather out at sea, our Boat trip was cancelled so we’ll have to go back again.
