One of the best properties we have stayed ever. The staff were super courteous and extremely supportive. The property is very neat, well kept and everything about the hotel was just above expectation. I need to call out some names of people who served us too well surprising industry standards. Mary, Roshni and Natasha from the first floor bar. Extremely courteous. Sony and Holyland from the restaurant on the ground floor offered excellent service. Even the chef Tulsi came to our table and we shared some good feedback with him.

We had a lovely stay at Vivanta Meghalaya. The front desk staff was most kind and helpful. Our chauffeur was courteous and warm. We had several good meals at Mynt, including the complimentary breakfast, of which special mention must be made of the parathas. We found the staff throughout uniformly attentive. The rooms had everything one could desire.

I visit shillong atleast twice a year.... Because meghalaya has a special place in my heart.... Everything is too good to explain... But only 1 thing is that some local foods not all ..... r made too costly for tourist ... As I love jadoh n meat balls n all ... Sometimes they just make the bill too much out of nowhere...

Visited Cherrapunji in early June , rain season had started...

Visited Cherrapunji in early June , rain season had started and water falls were active. Jaw opening mountain plains, lush green, mesmerizing water falls, generally clean surroundings I rate food as average If possible, plan travel in early August when water falls are still at peak and good visibility ( no much fog/mist). But water falls through fog/mist are mystic Keep cash as many areas no network coverage and Jio network is best at Cherrapunji We stayed at Cozyo Stays premium boutique ( 7000 Rs/ room ), which has excellent location on a canyon , strongly recommend for breath taking view of valley ( they called 100 waters falls , only during June-August )

Nice and clean place.

Nice and clean place. Looks like it’s fully commercialised now with many houses converted to homestay. Nothing much to do here. Plan to visit and move on. Dawki to Mawlynnong road is terrible and narrow. Felt like visiting any other resort.

Jowai was lovely.

Jowai was lovely. Perfect weather, a peaceful, quiet town, so much better than the over crowded, noisy, traffic filled bigger cities. The dinner in Belly Timber was the icing in the cake! Loved every moment spent in Jowai!

Booking.com mentioned it as a bed and breakfast, but breakfast was not provided. There was no restaurant which was so inconvenient, even to have a glass of water one had to venture out 100 metres outside in the sun. There was no coffee maker as mentioned. TV was not working. Towel provided was stinking badly.

A very nice place to visit.

A very nice place to visit. One could use it as a base to make day trips to Dawki and Cherrapunji. The main reason is that hotels/apartments/home stays are much better in Shillong. The traffic is a bit maddening. It is better to start early when going outside Shillong city. The area around Police Bazar, the main shopping area is crowded in the evenings. Ofcourse that is the right time for a tourist to go there.

A must visit and has great locations to explore.

A must visit and has great locations to explore. One must have proper details on what all to do and visit and a logical flow of the distances to cover. There are great places to eat but stay is a problem and online reviews are unreliable and misleading. Average and below average rooms without any facilities and meals are steeply priced. Average cost is 3000-3500 ₹ for a basic 4 walls that too infested with cockroaches.

I was there only for one night as a halt to continue on to Cherrapunjee and Mawlynnong, so didn't get a chance to explore the city. Also a lot of construction going on which resulted in traffic. Lane discipline is commendable.

The best time to visit Cherrapunji or Meghalaya in general...

The best time to visit Cherrapunji or Meghalaya in general is post the monsoon season when it is green and fresh all over. One gets to see the waterfalls. In January everything is dry, cool and crisp. One hardly gets to see the waterfalls. Plus at our age we couldnot trek much to see the existing waterfalls which had water. Meghalaya in general very clean and very little stray dogs.
