"Small town with beautiful views, friendly locals, and plenty of good food. However it is really quiet and slow-placed. For me this was perfect, but if you are looking for vibrant night life and activity, you'd be advised to explore a larger city. Katsuura is the perfect spot to go to decompress and escape the hustle/bustle of big city life."

The hotel is simply amazing and we would always come back when planning to stay in Chiba. The location is right next to the station, to an outlet mall with nice cafes and restaurants and to a big park with playground. Also the closest beach is in walking distance, so the location is perfect. The room for our family of 3 was super huge, they put in 3 proper queen beds for us and the room is very beautiful and outstandingly clean. Breakfast is very good with a huge variety of fresh and healthy choices. We also loved the free drinks and snacks in evening hours. We will for sure be back.

This hotel has a little bit of everything, and that's why we love it. We stayed with an 8 month baby. The space is pretty tight for the baby to move around, but we liked our stay nevertheless.

The atmosphere, staff, facilities and beach side location was very kind and beautiful. The hotel's ocean theme as well as cuisine was an experience we have only ever seen through movies and media, which was a very remarkable experience.

Cost performance is great! Near a convenience store and a family restaurant thats open until 11pm. The station is less than 10 mins away. The building is old, yes, but the facilities are kept clean and there is no smell of smoke!

We like more local destinations, rather than tourist places.

We like more local destinations, rather than tourist places. We enjoyed Tateyama a lot. Visited local temples shrines and beach, and road houses by bicycles. (Bicycle roads need to be made more comfortable for riders, I guess, if Tateyama wants to sell it's attraction of "cycling Tateyama!") Especially people in Tateyama were so friendly! Meeting them gave us a lovely memories.

Minamiboso surprised me!

Minamiboso surprised me! There were quite a few very stylish and very delicious restaurants within walking distance from the property I stayed in and there is a supermarket and a convenience store as well. Free parking, empty beach with good sand and clean! I think its a gem for someone who wants a quiet peaceful summer experience away from the crowded Shonan beaches.

Awesome surf town.

Awesome surf town. It's quiet in mid-week and then picks up on the weekends. There's always plenty of places to eat at and people to meet. Surf scene is very strong there and the waves, though small in summer, were still super fun riding a midlength. Sunset surfs are amazing here. In summer you won't be ripping big walls or getting barrelled, but you can get some nice long rides on a big enough board and the place is beautiful. + Japanese food and surrounds. The town that sits behind the surf scene has great authentic places, rice farms and overall character.

I like how remote it is and all of the small independently run restaurants around. Heisaura beach is nice apart from the plastic that has been washed up. If the local government cleaned it up it would be amazing as there’s barely anybody that uses the beach.
