Amazing place. It feels like a magic garden: full of beautiful trees and flowers. There’s a swimming pool right above the ocean. Everything is really clean, the room is really nice, breakfast is good, we just had one dinner and it was good (but if you want to try swahili fish dishes go in the center of Watamu, where the T junction is: it’s great!). We really enjoyed our stay, the whole staff is great and helpful at any time. The wifi wasn’t working in our room (probably one of the farthest from the reception), but in the common areas and garden it works perfectly. You can easily find a tuk tuk or a motorcycle at the gate ready to pick you up. Thank you, We’ll be back for sure, hopefully soon.

I really enjoyed staying at Baba Lao Beach Hotel. It is located directly at the beach, the food is very delicious and the staff is super welcoming and friendly. In the evening you can enjoy the bonfire at the beach. I hope to come back soon.

The property is located on the beach. Rooms are very spacious and each lot of 5 rooms shares a fantastic swimming pool, a dinning room areas and a sitting area. Its absolutely beautiful ! Personnel is very helpful and extremely nice. The food was excellent to say the least. Juices of natural fruits from the region, great coffee, cereals, eggs, etc. The restaurant is open all day which is very convenient. Room service is served in the dinning table right outside the room. The table is perfectly set and the personal is ready for whatever you need. The Spa is very nice and the person in charge gives fabulous massages. All in all this hotel is a great place to stay when in Malindi for either pleasure or business.

This hotel was wonderful. The pools were always clean and the infinity pool at the end was beautiful. The staff & service were exceptional. They were accomodating and were very friendly. They decorated our suite with beautiful flowers for a birthday that was being celebrated. It was such a lovely surprise and there was a lot of effort put into it. The breakfast was always good with many options to choose from at the buffet. You could also order off the menu at any time.

It's not a very busy area, but there are a couple of...

It's not a very busy area, but there are a couple of restaurants and some activities you can do. The water is amazing and so are the sunsets! It's perfect for a romantic getaway or with a small intimate group pf friends, if you're looking for wild parties this would not be my top pick not unless it's high season

Malindi people are very welcoming, loved the place. will definately visit again We visited Mambrui sand dunes, Vasco Dagama pillar, malindi national museum, portugeese chapel, mida creek and we even planted mangroove trees Tuktuks are affordable to move around

So kilifi is not Mombasa.

So kilifi is not Mombasa. Plan accordingly, the amenities, facilities including transport are just not there yet. I would plan to rent a car if you want to move around freely Water sports are a must in Kilifi, the beaches are sooooo much cleaner Also, get acquainted with the locals as much as possible so you can find cheaper places to shop

It is not a place for a holiday, I was there to check on...

It is not a place for a holiday, I was there to check on some of my Property but I was frustrated because I ended up staying for more Days than I had wanted. It is loud and congested.but if one has his own home is Ok but there are other nice places to enjoy and have fun It easy to get round Mtwapa, by Tax Tuk tuk and motor Bikes and public means of transport called Matatus.

I have been living in Malindi for 20 years.I like Malindi and the coast for the weather, but the services and amenities are not so good.Anyway, since that I do not like winter, the coast of Kenya and Malindi is good for warm and sunny days.

Kilifi is growing in activities - music , education , range...

Kilifi is growing in activities - music , education , range of venues to stay or eat . But as yet it still more of a true Kenya Coastal town and resort with a pleasant , relaxed laid back atmosphere - compared to the more hectic ambience of Diani and parts of the South Coast . Range of good beaches on the creek itself is a little more limited , but as you leave the creek the range of white clean sand expands . Good for boat trips , fishing etc .

Its a nice town bustling with activity and its proximity to other amenities such as clubs, many nice restaurants, supermarkets, shops is very nice. Transport is easily available to other parts of the town, very friendly people, a variety of restaurants serving local dishes, barbeque chicken is a favourite and readily available every evening.
