Portugalwe went for a night as a family of 6 and we just loved every single thing at Luna, the place is simply amazing, the weather was favorable so we spent the afternoon at the pool, the water was surprisingly warm, I don't think it's heated but it was in a really comfortable temperature. the room was so comfortable that we didn't want to go back home! if you have the option to have the meal included just go for it! I can't describe how good the food was, we had codfish and we really loved it, there are plenty of options for the kids as well, and it's buffet, you don't even have to wait to get served, if you have kids that's a great advantage, last but not the least, the staff was really friendly! big Shout out to everyone that makes this experience such a great one! I'll for sure be back!

Loved loved loved the location, amazing friendly village, wonderful history, and the casa was beautifully renovated. Very quiet. Pool beautiful but freezing! Enjoyed the view from the pool deck and watching the sun go down. Extremely generous breakfast, kept us going all day. We'll equipped kitchen.

Oh, we liked everything. The place itself is amazing, the house with the fireplace worth of visiting (we had Casa Árvore); and we're very happy the weather was perfect, as for this time of a year.
The host was very helpful and helped under any circumstances.

Quiet and secluded location. Plenty of different animals on the farm. Very nice pool with both deep and shallow sections. Easy access. Very much enjoyed by my kid.

It a lovely town have a chilled vibe.
It a lovely town have a chilled vibe. It is is easy to walk and finding parking wasn't too bad either. It's a good place to base yourself if you have a car as there are many good attractions not far by car. There are loads of good restaurants. There are a few scenic things to see such as the bridge, the water clock, some murals and a lovely boardwalk along the river. Don't miss the science centre (Centro Ciência Viva). They have a lovely river beach and awesome municipal pool. I have also attended the medieval market and reenactment of a historical battle (recriação histórica do recontro de Valdevez) at the Castle (Paço de Giela) - that was pretty cool. At Christmas time, be sure to go see the enchanted forrest (floresta encantada).

Os Poetas is located on the same street as an amazing restaurant: "Crónicas da Vila". The two, the hotel and the restaurant, constituted the best welcome I could have had after a long bike ride from Ponte de Lima.

Melgaço is a small town in the North of Portugal on the border with Spain. We weren't expecting much to see and do which was fine as were going to recuperate but we were pleasantly surprised by all the things to see and do in the area so we could have stayed longer. The main attraction in the town itself is the small but pretty old town and the tower and fortified walls. There were a few lovely restaurants close by serving fabulous local food in the terrace. We didn't have time to visit the wine museum in town or the many vineyards in the area which is a pity as this is the heart of wine country.
We did do the lovely boardwalk down by the Minho river which is the border between Portugal and Spain and also highly recommened was the thermal spa. There are also many hiking trails in the area.
If you're up for a longer drive, the beaches of Vigo are an hour away, Santiago de Compostela and Porto just under 2 hours.
But really the best thing to do here is chill, take a hike or two in the rolling hills, enjoy local food and wines in rural villages and slow down for a while in nature.

The trail to the castle is pretty nice to do, and the views on top are great.
The multiple restaurants offer the same type of food but still very good.
Melgaço is pretty close by, as is the Peneda Gerês Park.
Walking around the town is calm and relaxing as it's a pretty small village

Arcos de Valdevez is a very clean and well-kept town — a true pleasure to visit. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with charming streets and beautiful surroundings. Not all restaurants accept credit cards, but ATMs are available and easy to find.
A lovely place for a relaxed stroll, good food, and exploring the local culture. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Great walks. Lovely scenery. Friendly folks. Shame about the yappy dogs everywhere but if you are travelling without dogs you probably won't notice it so much. Download a walking app to help you. Take a drive towards Boimo. The views at the top are spectacular. Weather is of course changeable so be prepared for all kinds of weather. Pastel de nata from the Panaderia in Soajo are very good too.

We were unimpressed with & frustrated with No offer to help elderly with luggage, across rough surfaces from the parking area . No resolution for overly warm room, & malfunctioning safe.
Issues with refrigerator not cooling, nonpaved surfaces & uneven granite pavers making luggage transfer difficult . Room was not properly readied with the overly warm temperature and 3 tissues left in tissue box & malfunctioning safe & refrigerator
