A historic building in the town's historic district doesn't get much better than this to get a real feel of Washington's days gone by. Communication in advance with the owner was terrific and meeting him in person upon arrival a real pleasure. I loved my room, especially the high ceiling. My only regret is that the weather wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the lovely pool area.

First, the woman at the desk was warm and friendly, and super helpful getting us a lower rate than we reserved it at!The hot tub in the beautiful and upscale feeling bathroom is why we came back. The bathroom is almost as big as the room itself! Has a stand up shower, double sink, hot tub with jets and a toilet behind a second door. I think we spent more time in the bathroom than the bedroom, LOL. The bed was a dream though with crisp white bedding that felt like heaven. The cost in regards to the quality is unheard of. Never expected to get something so perfect for such an affordable rate. Will definitely be returning on a regular basis!

Good location right off the interstate.

Good location right off the interstate. Happy Hour was a nice surprise, along with hot food! Rooms were fine and bed was comfortable. Breakfast could have been warmer and better, but it sufficed. We would stay here again when traveling along I 10.

The Westlake side of Lake Charles was different. EXCEPT THE RIGHT LAKE SUDES; SUCH AS THE HORSHOE HOTEL... THAT WESTLAKE NORTH SUDE WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. ESPECIALLY LA QUINTA HOTEL. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE...PLUS THE BUILDING VIEW OUTSIDE WAS NASTY. AT THE DOORWAY. SMELLED OF SMOKE...LIGHTING DIM

What we did see during our three days in Houma was...

What we did see during our three days in Houma was impressive. The natives were very friendly! The layout of the city streets and avenues were conductive to getting to our destinations quickly. The Military Museum requires a visit (be prepared to spend at least a couple hours). The museum is a gem of military equipment from the Civil War to the present will bring a smile to those who served. There were other sites we wanted to see but did not have time. If low to mid-budget shopping is your desire, the city will certainly satisfy. We will return to Houma in the near future for another quiet, relaxing visit. And we shall eat again at Boudreaux's and Thibodeaux's; the fried fish is succulent.

The town of Darrow is just a speck.

The town of Darrow is just a speck. The Houmas House Estate is well worth visiting and staying overnight. The grounds are stunning with paths and many areas to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The house tour is excellent and the dining was awesome.

The managerElla & host Tina made it right for me to stay booking.com drop the ball book a month ahead and when I got to the hotel nothing was reserved call them 4 times and the agent hung up on me have to pay out of pocket for the stay booking.com didn’t handle this in a professional way and left me stuck out when I had paid them for my stay unacceptable

I was born in Sulphur, my house was destroyed in Hurricane Laura, the city shits on disabled veterans!!! The day I sell my property there will be the best day of my life!!! Moving back there with my daughters in 2009 was THE WORST decision of my life!! The school system absolutely sucks if you are not in the city clique, my youngest was a straight A student since first grade and in the advanced student program, she was always denied access to "The Governors Kids Program for Accelerated Students". Since Hurricane Laura the city has been taking people's ancestral homes and land, EVEN from disabled Veterans!!! There is NOTHING worth visiting in this town unless they are a relative of yours. If you are passing thru, keep driving to Texas, or heading to Lafayette if going east, you will have a better trip that way. BUT, The Longhorn Truck Plaza has a good hotel at a very fair price, they are the 1st exit in LA east bound, or the last exit before Texas going west. I wish I had photos to share, I don't have them on this phone.

We only stayed in Thibodaux because it was well located for our trip exploring the swamp areas south of New Orleans. Also, photographs of the old town looked interesting, although it turned out to be disappointing as nothing was open in the early evening.

Broussard was a small stop on the way to bigger things. Plenty of local travel options for food, lodging, entertainment, and nature. We did the Champagne swamp tour, and it was well worth the trip and cost.

Lafayette is a quiet Louisiana town that has the charm and quaintness of a typical French small town. The ambience was peaceful; visited the Evangeline statue in St. Martin Parish at the Saint Martin de Tours Mother Church of the Acadians and also visited the Longfellow - Evangeline State Historic Site. Pressed for time, I would love to get back and visit soon....

Worst hotel i have ever stayed at!

Worst hotel i have ever stayed at! Disgusting smell, very dirty, everything broken down. Nothing worked including the shower. Manager savanna incredibly rude and controversial even to her staff. Unexpected fees that cost more than the hotel itself. Filthy pool, key to gym didnt work. They lost our check in paperwork so locked us out of our room. I wanted to leave as soon as i got there. This place should not be on booking.com. I want a refund! Stay at horseshoe dont stay here, you will regret it. Their reviews are fake! Abd they hide their true bad reviews
