This is a beautiful resort with a distinctly European alpine feel to it, which I loved. The room was spacious and well-appointed, had a comfortable bed and a nice view. The area has a secluded feel to it, and provides hiking opportunities with easy, moderate and advanced trails. I can imagine it's also a really fun ski resort in winter. There are multiple high-quality food options on site.

Everything. Just didn't like being double charged at other platforms Bookings com and hotel. But they were quick to resolve problems.... If you have evidence. Make sure you check your transactions. Quiet place. But you can hear the water flowing as in flushing toilets from neighbors Other than that, it's quiet.

People were all nice, and the breakfast was good. The Hotel, was on the old side? But pretty clean for the age. It was comfortable. If you're expecting a sparkley hotel, you will be disappointed. But to sleep and rest, it was a good spot. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed the Philips 26 Fjord a day cruise , sew a bunch...

We enjoyed the Philips 26 Fjord a day cruise , sew a bunch of sea lions and otters in the middle of ocean incredible!!!. We like the most was Alpine helicopter tour, the pilot was the best man, he stopped on the middle of the glacier there is a little pond, he scooped water, let us teasted the water, ii was fantastic!!!.

We (myself and extended family) were attending my grandson's wedding at Alyeska and rented 4 VRBO's in Girdwood. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their lodgings and enjoyed the beauty of Girdwood and Alyeska. It's definitely worth the visit! Although it is a small town, there are enough cafe's and stores to satisfy without losing the frontier feeling of Alaska. Lots of good hiking and places to eat.

anchorage itself should not be stayed in other than to go somewhere else. i stayed in a couple good places but you really got use due care, price wont find you a good room. the great thing, Anchorage offers many ways to get on to your next destination.

Beautiful area and great hikes.

Beautiful area and great hikes. The folks at the grocery store are very friendly, the local brewery is great and the food trucks supplied awesome dinner. We have travel with our 1 y old and liked it all. We managed to hike Mt Alyeska, visit Portage Glacier, hike Exit glacier from Seward and took a day cruise from Whittier.

The town is bustling a great.

The town is bustling a great. We got around well with our own car and internet for directions. There were lots of things to see and do. Some of the descriptions of stores were a little over the top compared to what was actually available.

GIrdwood is a sweet location.

GIrdwood is a sweet location. Not far from Anchorage and a great place from which to have a day trip to Seward and the Kenai Fjords. I recommend those flying in to Anchorage to spend a few days here before heading to Anchorage. A great way to start a vacation in beautiful Alaska!
