"A beautiful western Massachusetts town, very walkable, with nice boutiques and galleries. We visited in October, so some restaurants had closed for the season. We, however, were fortunate to have an incredible meal at Firefly Gastropub. It was popping the night we were there! We had seats at the bar and were attended by the amazing bartender who must have been wearing roller skates! I highly recommend a visit to the area."

"Lee is a small town near Stockbridge and Lenox. It’s in the Berkshire Mts. The Fall foliage is worth the trip. Colors were popping! We visited: Olivia’s Outlook (a stunning view of the valley and mountains), the Norman Rockwell Museum (well worth a visit here for $23/senior) the Kripalu Yoga Campus (beautiful views of the surrounding mountains), Pleasant Valley Nature Sanctuary (trails and information of the land). In town we walked to dinner and breakfast. Morgan House Inn is a historical fixture serving food from 4-8 pm. We had the best Angus burgers and fresh-cut fries ever! Park 51 had comfortable outdoor seating and the food was excellent and delicious. My breakfast at Rosie’s was superb: a fresh croissant with fluffy, scrambled eggs, applewood bacon and creamy cheese. The accompanying fresh greens with a creamy dressing were delicious."

"A very "walkable" town that has much to offer - a good selection of restaurants and arts activities. The presence of MCLA and the many state and local parks really enhances the area's cultural and outdoor offerings. Although there a a handful of stately homes that are need of repair, this only enhances the charm of the city. Within an hour's walk, I was able to take in a good portion of the city. Highly recommend Ramunto's Brick Oven Pizza - delicious food and an easy walk from Downstreet Hotel and other points downtown."

Lenox is one of the most inviting towns in the Berkshires and the beautifully restored Dr Sax House is a gem in its center. We arrived on the coldest day of winter to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but Brian and Kelly and their solicitous staff gave us the warmest welcome and most delightful stay we have had anywhere. I don't think we've ever encountered a bedroom and bathroom with so many thoughtful amenities: not just toiletries but everything you might have forgotten, not just a yoga mat but a gym bag filled with small weights and accessories. Their cozy restaurant Dulu is en suite with a beautifully appointed bar. The menu is imaginative and my baked halibut was the most delicious I have enjoyed - ever. With temperatures in the single digits it was a plus for us to be able to simply hang out at the Inn, but under balmier conditions all the artistic and culinary attractions that Lenox has to offer are right outside the door. It's also a perfect base for Tanglewood and many other local cultural activities. We look forward to our return soon!

We loved The Little Lion. Check in is a breeze. Before you arrive, you are sent the room number and pin number and when you arrive, you are all set. Clean, comfortable, quiet, serene, The dogs loved being there. Room amenities were perfect. Nice linen and towels. Room smelled clean when we arrived. Shower was great. Great hot water. Heat worked well. The grounds are nice. Walking trails, restaurants and shopping are all close by. We can't say enough about this motel. The Red Lion did a great job with this little gem. You also get to use the ameneties of the Red Lion Inn which is just up the road. (Even the pool and hot tub!!) My wife and I were impressed with the value of this motel. And did I mention there is NO PET FEE AT ALL!? This was our first visit to The Little Lion and definitely not our last.

My family and I enjoyed the peace and the quietness of Pittsfield, however there was a moment we came across a Berkshire Rapid Transit Authority (BRTA) employee wearing a racist T-Shirt at the Pittsfield Armtrak station on our way back to NEW YORK on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at about 2:15 pm. As a black family, this was a scary moment for us.

Definitely glad to have visited Joe's Cafe, a local watering hole for many years. We chatted with the waitress, a few other customers, and Joe's son Frank. It's that kind of place--hot coffee, mushroom omelette for my wife, corn beef hash with eggs up for me.

I love Great Barrington!

I love Great Barrington! I go there mainly to hike nearby, primarily at Bartholomew's Cobble, which I visit every spring to see spring ephemerals and other wildflowers, and the Cary Institute, which is about an hour away. I'm slowly discovering other great nature sites nearby, too, like Jug End. And I also love the town. It's just pleasant to stroll around, and to peruse the fun shops. My favorite shops are Sett and One Mercantile. Eating is also great here! This time I asked for locals to recommend restaurants, and found some great new places! I particularly enjoyed: - Agaves for Mexican (so fresh; best salsa I have ever had) -Cafe Adam for a delicious high-end meal (I sneaked in without a reservation, but that was pure luck). -Barrington Brewery for dessert (yes, a brewery for dessert!), where I had their delicious fruit crisp (though the pies looked amazing too and earlier in the day I might have tried the chocolate cake). - Marketplace kitchen for breakfast - great coffee, traditional breakfast choices as well as slightly more creative choices, and delicious options for getting your egg dish over greens in a bowl, if you like. Great vibe and well-lit, spacious place, too, if you want to linger with a friend or your laptop.

The area attracts such interesting and kind people from all over. If you don't want to look someone in the eye or say hello to strangers, not the place for you. We strolled the streets, went to the Shrine of Divine Mercy --gorgeous grounds with such a sense of grandeur of nature. We went to Norman Rockwell and loved the tour. A great balance of lolling around and learning a lot!

I would not go back to this city unless i was forced to as there is literally almost nothing to do. We found specific small businesses the visit and hang out at but nothing screams please let us show you how vibrant our city is or anything like that. I believe they are trying to sell it as a vibrant art community with MoCA right there but there are huge pockets of empty store fronts, etc. When I asked one of the resident bartenders at a truly great standout bar what people in North Adams for for fund she told me they moved out.

One of the worst motels in my life.

One of the worst motels in my life. Working here very strange people, by smell of marihuana from them all the time. On matrass by some reason was plastic cover , and on it impossible to sleep (never see it in hotels before, but I changed a lot of hotels and motels). When I removed it, they told about bugs , which can come without it and why I took it away. All old and ruined. No any hangers at all. No any change of linens and towels. For shampoo you need to ask. In bathroom a lot of huge ants.
