"The small shops and local food were far above average. The Northern Nevada Railroad trains made this my daughter's favorite trip in her memory. "Better than Disneyland" sightseeing was second to none with the lakes, caves, and open land nearby. I also highly recommend the 'Drugstore Museum" the next town over."

The restaurant was excellent. We arrived shortly before closing and the staff was still very courteous, helpful and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. We would eat here again and stay at the Motel in the future as we travel to UT often.

Ely is a cute little town.

Ely is a cute little town. The historic area is quite nice, but there does appear to be some economic depression too. Many closed up buildings and businesses. The people are very friendly. Close to the Ward Ovens and Cave Lake.

This is a very small town.

This is a very small town. As long as you know that up front, it will keep your expectations realistic. One restaurant (food truck), a quaint country store with really good coffee and a pizza night. Your next option if you're a visitor to Great Basin National Park is Ely, which is a good hour and fifteen minutes away.

The area around Ely is very beautiful and is the reason we came to Ely. Sadly the town itself looks like it is suffering economically. Many of the businesses were shut town and boarded up. There were not too many places to eat either for breakfast or dinner especially a bit later at night. We thought Ely would be more of a tourist town and that it would be open later especially with casinos. We had no interest in casinos but thought that would bring in business.

What a lovely and clean place right next to the National Park. We even caught the Perseid meteor showers. Staff were very kind but seemed overworked as one person was doing all. Excellent cleanliness and room as described. For the price, it was a spectacular value.

Great place to stay if visiting the Great Basin National Park and surrounding area. Plenty of local restaurants in Ely. Town was safe and quiet. Good weather. Plenty of gas stations/convenience stores available for road trip supplies and morning coffe.

Baker is on old town with many closed businesses and some rundown and abandoned homes but the people in the General Store and motel were welcoming, helpful, and pleasant. There are about 10 motel rooms in town and no grocery store. Most people visiting Great Basin National Park either camp or drive great distances. There is one restaurant, Mexican food.
