"We came to re-hike Exit Glacier, after hiking there 17 years ago. We were not disappointed! Due to staffing issues, it was hard to find a place to eat. Highly recommend the Seafood Cafe at the harbor, as they can serve the food very fast."

"I absolutely loved coming to Homer! Walking the Spit was probably the funnest thing to do for me because I was able to go out on the beach and collect shells once the tides were out. If your lucky you'll spot otters out along the beach edge too! The little shops all along the spit are really nice and fairly priced too!"

There was no breakfast at this location but the ladies at the front desk directed us to a restaurant very close by that we were unaware of, and turned out to be our new favorite Soldotna breakfast/lunch place! We were in town for a wedding of former members of our youth program, and we decided last minute on 4th of July weekend not to come down with our camper. Our room was comfortable, quiet, the bed amazing!, the bathroom clean. We were glad to have been able to get a room on such short notice! The front desk communicated with us prior to arrival and everything was ready the moment we arrived! Excellent service!

What a view! We had a beachfront room with a balcony that looked out onto the ocean. The room was spacious, clean, with comfortable beds. The shower had great water pressure too. A really nice place to stop, and it was quiet when we were there, so we could really enjoy the balcony and the path down to the beach.

For a budget motel, this place was honestly clean and welcoming. I'm not sure what other reviewers have to complain about when this place stands out among other budget options. It is clearly cared for and everything was clean and comfortable.

Very Scenic and Historic Area.

Very Scenic and Historic Area. Great for interesting and varied hikes. ** Dont miss the boat cruise on the resurrection bay! * Drive to Seward comes in close second in terms of scenery. Fave spot - views around the resurrection bay. Eat - anywhere on 4th Ave Getting around - best with car, or shuttle or just walk!

The drive to Homer is gorgeous.

The drive to Homer is gorgeous. The town has anything you need and the spit is a place you just have to walk for yourself. We experienced a low tide and the beach walking was exceptional! You can eat at food trucks, get gelato, sit at a bar or pub or eat upscale - something for everyone, as long as you like seafood. Even if you don't go fishing, watching the fishing, fish preparation, etc. is fun. For us, without a fishing day, two days was the perfect amount of time to take it all in, enjoy the views and rest up. Many excursions leave from Homer so research those and add days as necessary.

Soldotna is a wonderful town with access to the best salmon fishing in the world and most beautiful nature site seeing and hiking opportunities. Great community market every Wednesday during the summer June-August. More economical than other equal and larger cities on the peninsula.

We liked staying in a cabin.

We liked staying in a cabin. It was very roomy and we liked the electric fireplace. My daughter liked the loft. It was close enough to the road but still felt remote. No TV, but it had a DVD player?? Shower felt like an RV shower. Breakfast was underwhelming.

This property was noisy since it is right off a main road.

This property was noisy since it is right off a main road. The room we stayed in was an assortment of "updates" - had patch work walls, no light cover on one of the lights. I would say it wasn't the worse place we have ever stayed but not the best (specially for the price we paid). We didn't get much sleep the first night since it was hot, and we couldn't turn off the heaters or open the windows (due to the noise).

Has free shuttle bus service. Was easy to get around town. Very nice fishing community. Views are beautiful. And the history of the town is intriguing. Groceries are high. Restaurants are expensive. Everything in Alaska is expensive. Would go again to Seward. Just expect to pay a lot for groceries and eating out. There are no fast foods except Subway.

Soldotna had so much more to offer than we expected.

Soldotna had so much more to offer than we expected. It is a great home base for exploring the Kenai Peninsula. There is so much to do right in town as well. We were able to take part in a 5K race, enjoy a city park with a great boardwalk along the river, and visit the Kenai Nationail Widllife Refuge for information and great hikes. Kenai River Brewing had great beer and food after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. Fred Meyer was a great stop for groceries and so much more.

Liked that there was a bar/restaurant right there.

Liked that there was a bar/restaurant right there. They had an out door area for dining or drinking with a firepit. Disappointed that there were not two bedrooms as stated in listing and rooms were 48 degrees and had to be heated with small space heaters which took forever to warm up the space. Cabin was very clean though. The water in the bathroom kept going from hot to cold and was not consistent. Loft area adults could not sit upright on the mattress. There was carpet on the floor up there none on the main floor which for us was no big deal. Not sure if the beds were actually queen or not they seemed very small to us. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great for the fishermen.
