I liked everything about my stay. The room was facing the river with a small balcony. Very relaxing. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Orofino is a very welcoming community. There is a variety of places to eat. Breakfast was perfect. A couple of deer even came to visit.

Clarkston is a pretty little town on the shores of the Snake...

Clarkston is a pretty little town on the shores of the Snake River in Palouse country. Our interest was in visiting the farm plateau where my father grew up and then up into the Blue Mountains. From the mountains you can see the Wallowas in Oregon as well as the 7 Devil's Mountains in Idaho.

Lewiston was fine.

Lewiston was fine. We've been there before and took a jet boat trip down the Snake River. That was awesome. I'd love to do that again sometime. There are many things to do in Lewiston! What was the horrendous part of our time in Lewiston was that the room at the Super 8 that was really bad. It is obviously being renovated and our room was not done yet. It was in terrible condition and far from clean or comfortable! I wish we would have demanded a different room. It was not cleaned when we got there. The trash baskets in the living area and the bathroom were not emptied. The TV remote did not work. The batteries were taped in, the back of it was missing. It makes me ill to even think about the condition of the room. In fact, when we got there, workmen were hammering, sawing, etc, on the rooms across the hall. Maybe this will be ok in about a year. Otherwise, DO NOT GO TO THIS SUPER 8!!!!!

Such a quaint town but with the amenities you need... gas,...

Such a quaint town but with the amenities you need... gas, groceries, food, hardware, propane. The location is so beautiful! It's right on The Clearwater River. If you need a break, the city park is the perfect place to stop. It's also the jumping-off point to Dworshak Dam & Reservoir where you'll find camping and fishing. Eat at The China House, The Ponderosa, and The Dog House. All good food, clean, and friendly staff.

Our trip was to visit a family member in Orofino.

Our trip was to visit a family member in Orofino. I am so glad we stayed in Lenore since our cell phones and wi-fi did not have any reception in Orofino. This site was amazing, and the drive into Orofino was convenient.

I had driven through before a couple of times.

I had driven through before a couple of times. Enjoyed stopping and getting to visit some of the museums and historical sites. Also, loved the scenery and the location. Will be watching the weather there over the winter to see if it is really milder than where we now live in southwestern Idaho!

Lewiston was filled with more police than people.

Lewiston was filled with more police than people. Ok, maybe not that bad but for the love of god every turn I was met with another cruiser. I’ll not return. I don’t drink or smoke but that level of anxiety sucks.
