Visiting the Fargo area involves a lot of driving.
Fargo

Visiting the Fargo area involves a lot of driving. Parking downtown is not always easy, but the Broadway area is a gem with some great restaurants and unusual boutiques, so I recommend visiting. The Vinal Taco and Black BIrd were favorite eateries, and O'Day Cache is a great boutique. Across the river, Moorhead also has some sites to offer such as the Hjemkomst Center which you can walk to from the Raddison..

Minot

Minot is a welcoming city that offers a great balance of small-town friendliness and larger-city amenities. There are plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, while still maintaining a strong sense of community. The city has excellent parks, recreational opportunities, and family-friendly events throughout the year. One of Minot's biggest strengths is its access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Residents enjoy attractions like the North Dakota State Fair, local festivals, and nearby outdoor recreation. While winters can be long and cold, the community is resilient, and there is always something happening to keep people engaged. Overall, Minot is a great place to live, work, and raise a family, offering convenience, opportunity, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Bismarck is a great city.
Bismarck

Bismarck is a great city. It is clean and there are many things to do if you stay longer than we did. We are familiar with Bismarck, but it has remained a city of where we'd be happy to live. The people are friendly and thoughtful. There are many good places to eat. We feel comfortable in Bismarck as well. We ate at Sickies Garage Burgers and Brews and enjoyed some very tasty and unique burgers. Fun place and staff was wonderful.

Grand Forks

Grand Forks, located between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Fargo, ND, is a center for many things for those who live within a couple of hundred miles. Medical facilities are excellent, and there are specialists for just about any ailment, condition, or injury. Many people drive for several hours to shop at the large variety of stores, many in or near Columbia Mall. The Alerus Center hosts big concerts and events, and UND hockey is legendary and its home is 'The Ralph". Grand Forks is also a destination for those who love the arts, and includes different theaters where one can see various plays, either put on by students, community, or world class traveling productions.

Jamestown

Jamestown is a small and friendly town, secure and with really nice people. There is not much to do there, Wallmart, swimming pool, bowling, few small shops. You can go to a small park in the middle and walk around and see the world biggest buffalo. Not long to drive to Fargo or Bismark. I stayed there for 8 days. As I was there, visiting my daughter who is studing there in the University and during morning working remotley, it was ok. If I was there as a tourist 1-2 days would be enough.

Unfortunately we went to Medora in mid April and the town was basically closed. It looks like a great place though. Really enjoyed Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Walks and lots of wild life to look for. The people who were there were very friendly.

Watford City is close to the northern entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We visited both the north and south units and the north was our favorite. Watford City is a small town and dining options were a challenge for us, but we loved the proximity to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
