I highly recommend this hotel especially if you travel with your furry friend! Staff was amazing, the room was extremely clean and very spacious. The balcony allowed my fur baby to be outside safely. We will definitely make this our #1 place to stay when visiting Avalon

If you have it in your budget, go to the Descanso Beach Club with a reservation for a pair of chaise lounges. Dreamy! If not, it's still a perfect place to swim and have lunch. An overnight stay means you can stroll Avalon in peace after all the passengers have departed on their giant cruise ship. Gorgeous light when the sun is setting. I recommend the Hotel Atwater which is a beautifully renovated property with comfy beds. Lastly, do take the Wrigley Island Tour on a day that will stop for the Arabian horses at El Rancho Escondido and also, for a look see of the fully restored and flight worthy DC3 plane in the Airport in the Sky. Freshly baked cookies are a bonus as is the tour bus , a fully air conditioned restored vintage 1953 bus. So special!

Avalon has plenty of bars and places to eat, with many options for all tastes. Beaches, whilst small, are clean and users respect the rules such as no dogs or noise. There are plenty of water sports based activities, from parasailing, glass bottom boats, boat and pedalo hire, scuba lessons, and a yellow submarine amongst others, booking available in multiple locations, but mainly based on the the green pier. For those more eco-conscious there are inland tours to sightsee bison, mule deer, bald eagles, foxes and bird life. Book one of these if you would like to see more of the island, you will have no access to the Conservancy if you were to book your own golf cart. The visit to the Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Gardens is worth it. Quick note, if you want to visit the island on quieter days, check out the cruise ship schedule before you book.
