Communication with the hosts was as well as the very helpful personnel was clear and friendly. The accommodation did not only have everything it should, but always had a bit more. For example towels for swimming or little blankets in the living room. There is a clear security concept which made us feel safe. The location is ideal for visiting the Addo national elephant park, since it is only a few minutes away. Wifi and parking was perfectly managed.

We stayed at Harmony in the off season and we were actually the only ones there. Apart from the beautiful tent and view from the tent, we could see so many starts and the entire milkiway from our balcony, which was mesmerizing. Apart from all of that Mike is a very nice host and we had some good talks, he made us lovely dinner and breakfast and helped us if needed and provided recommendations and directions.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in SA. We received a very warm welcome including a welcome drink and some lunch. Check-in was super easy, and we were given a tour of the premises. Our room was beautiful, with a lovely view over the game reserve, where we were able to spot warthogs, antelope and the baby hippo which lives in the waterhole. The service was fantastic, and nothing was a bother, they kindly decorated our room after one of our game drives with a selection of cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine, which went down very nicely! The game drives, however, were the highlight. We did 6 in total, each very different but all very special. our driver, Evence, was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to spot the animals from miles away! We managed to see rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and antelope all up close. Our stops for morning coffee and sundowners were always in beautiful locations and we had an array of choices of drinks. We would definitely recommend staying here

Every single thing about HillsNek lodge is special. The location is stunning, tucked away in a quiet, secluded corner of the Amakhala reserve. With only four luxury tents, the experience feels incredibly exclusive. It truly feels like the whole world revolves around you during your stay. And those tents… spacious, elegant, private, with breathtaking views and total tranquility. The food deserves its own paragraph: absolutely outstanding. Every single meal was a highlight, and for a foodie, this place is paradise. The lodge staff are exceptional across the board. Warm, attentive, genuine. Our ranger, Tim, with his encyclopedic knowledge and wonderful sense of humor, is an absolute treasure and made every game drive unforgettable. We'll never stop dreaming about this magical place.

This is my 2nd time staying at Kichaka and again it was amazing. It is truly a must visit when visiting the eastern cape. From the moment you arrive you are treated so well. The lovely ladies at reception who greeted us and everyone at the lodge. The food was fabulous, they catered for me being Coeliac too. The game drives were amazing. Justin our ranger is so knowledgeable and so so lovely. We had the most fabulous animal experiences with Justin. We were sad to leave, it was like leaving your friends behind. We wish we had a longer stay but we will definitely be back and stay longer next time.

I had a wonderful stay at Amakhala Safari Lodge. The staff go above and beyond, the food is good and plentiful, and the suite is heaven. I recommend arriving by 2 PM on your check-in day so you can attend the afternoon drive. The drives are fantastic; the guides are very knowledgable and the reserve is huge. Come with a good attitude; you may or may not see depending on the weather or the fact that animals are unpredictable - but the guides will try their hardest! My guide Des made several efforts to find rhinos - even staying later than normal until we found them!

We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and it was amazing - we were taken on a safari vehicle onto a game reserve and from there had to find the grazing giraffe. Once we spotted them, we drove close by and then got out of the vehicle to walk close (but not too close) to the giraffe to watch them eat their dinner. It was a lovely experience, and our guide Stephen was knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions. We stayed at the Bellevue Lodge for 1 night, it was a lovely small property with friendly staff.

I believe there are around eight lodges working Amakhala and it doesn't seem congested but seems just the right size. The amount of different animals to be seen no congestion of game run trucks is great

Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...) The dinner in the lodge was superb.

This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. This gem is a true home from home

The staff at Amakhala were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. the room was large and when you came back after the second safari they had turned the lights on. folded down the beds and put the heating on. That is a really great touch from the staff. The Park Rangers were very good. We had Jessie and he was very informative and had a great sense of humour. He really did his best to find the animals we all wanted to see and made it a special experience.

Amakhala Game Reserve is a haven for wild animals and a brilliant place for a safari. Many of the animals used to roam the land 100 years ago before the land was used for farming. In the early 2000's the land was returned to its natural habitat and the animals reintroduced, with the aim of conservation and breeding of endangered species. As it is in a malaria-free area, it is the perfect location for a safari for people who get bitten by mozzies! There were only a few jeeps out on drives at any time, so you rarely come across other people. There are several lodges in the reserve to choose as your base (we stayed at Safari Lodge, which was brilliant).
