We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Recidence. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The hosts, Diego and Teka went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay.
The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Every detail—from the fresh linens and flowers to the thoughtful touches—showed how much care the owners put into their guests’ experience. Beautifull gardens.
Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. The location was perfect—peaceful, scenic and close to local attractions and amenities.

South AfricaOur host Alexander was there to meet us on arrival and help with our cases. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious with a very comfortable bed. He made an arrangement to provide us with a small table and comfy outdoor chairs on the patio so that we could eat our take away dinner and also provided us with wine glasses. Breakfast was very good and made to order, coffee excellent and the extra attention to detail and personal interaction with the hosts made us feel very at home.

We booked two villas and two rooms for a family reunion. Every person we interacted with was so kind and helpful and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to accommodate us. The breakfast was delicious and the view was breathtaking. A bonus was the beautiful walking trail amongst proteas and indigenous plants and birds! Rooms and villas had everything we needed and more! Everything was spotless and top quality! Villas were spacious and we had plenty of room for everyone. We had a private swimming pool and jacuzzi and access to a well equipped gym! We always felt safe and we had a wonderful time! Hope to come back!

My brother and I are on the self drive Safari to South Africa, BOTSWANA and NAMIBIA, and this was any port in a storm, what a DELIGHT this port turned out to be. D UPGRADED US FROM SINGLE ROOM TO HIS BEST ROOM FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE. WE WERE THERE IN THE BITTER COLD OF WINTER BUT THIS PLACE WOULD BE FANTASTIC IN THE SUMMER. D IS EXCEPTIONALLY PERSON AND BREAKFAST WAS OUTSTANDING. I COULD NOT SAY ENOUGH EXCELLENT ABOUT THIS PLACE IF I EVER COME BACK THIS WAY, I WILL STAY HERE.
I should add that in the last 10 years I've travelled in Africa almost 20 months, so I speak with some experience

I loved the entire feel of the place. It was just what we had been looking for to rest. Loved the cabin/lodge so cozy.

I can not wait to get back there this time hopefully for longer...5 days seemed to just fly by too fast!

The appartment is well located for Somerset Mall & all it has to offer. Superb beach, but during the winter, services are limited, There are any number of restaurants of all types and umpteen vineyards to go and visit.
This was our second visit, the first being in summer. The difference, as you can imagine, is very noticeable.
Easy access from the airport and the start of the 'Garden Route' which, if you have hired a car, I can highly recommend.

Don't try and walk to Lions Head from this location.
Don't try and walk to Lions Head from this location. You will be exhausted before you start. Start from the Lions Head parking at the base of the mountain. We failed because of being too ambitious.
There is an Italian restaurant close by. We only had breakfast, but the meal, service and decor were special. Very memorable and worth the little bit extra.

I liked the reception.
I liked the reception. Then the overall look and feel of the hotel. Our room were neat and the right temperature by arrival. There could be more water. The seaview from our balcony were great although the air were misty from early evening till the early the next morning. We love Krystal Beach Hotel. Would recommend it any day to anyone. I could easily stay there a whole week.

This accommodation has a verry bad neighbourhood! You have to drive to a really unpleasant area to get to the small holdings which are then fenced and secured. But huge warning since at the gate shows how safe the area is😉

During the big storm in Cape Town, Dina truly came to our rescue and was an absolute angel in a time of despair. After our flight only arrived at 5pm instead of 11am, we suddenly found ourselves needing accommodation for the night because all the roads to Hermanus were closed due to the severe weather conditions.
Even though Dina’s guest rooms had been badly damaged by the storm, she warmly welcomed us into her own home and kindly gave us two comfortable guest rooms for the night. Everything was cosy, clean, and absolutely perfect after such a stressful day.
What made the experience even more special was Dina’s incredible kindness and generosity. Although she already had plans for the evening, she took the time to settle us in, offered us wine and beer from her fridge, and even helped us order takeaway food.
We are so grateful for her hospitality and care. I would highly recommend staying here anytime — Dina is a wonderful host with a truly caring heart.

The area was ok.
The area was ok. I would not walk around alone or in the evenings though. West side does not seem save to my opinion.
Main street very busy. People enjoyed walking the pets and strolling.

Gordon's Bay appears to have been left behind in time, which appeals to me. The beaches are clean, there is a book store, gift shop and fish & chip shop amongst others which offer excellent value. The people are friendly, I was always greeted by passersby when walking on the beach. The town is also well protected from the wind, whilst blowing strongly elsewhere the town was calm and protected by the surrounding mountains. The little bay is a gem and the nearby scenery is international level.

I enjoyed getting to know Gordon’s Bay and the second hand book shop, which understandably draws visitors from miles around.
The mountain, where Manor House is located in Sir Lowry’s Pass, shared many different delights every day including beautiful horses, an Italian vineyard (ahem winery), a steam train complete with cheerful “toot!”
The mountains themselves give the scene an Alpine feel; the urge to sing may be unavoidable.

It’s an RDP house in a township it was dark and you can not...
It’s an RDP house in a township it was dark and you can not drive over ons u you get to that street it’s a dead end……after we arrived we noticed a black BMW then, we daparted as soon as possible …it also departed ons we moved im sure they are using that house to rob people.
