If it were possible to give a rating higher than "excellent," we would give it to Hippo Water Lodge without a second thought.
We only stayed here for one night, but this experience was the absolute highlight and most memorable part of our journey. A magical place for complete immersion in nature!
But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible warmth and care of the owner. When we were leaving, he was genuinely concerned that our small car might not handle the rain-washed, muddy dirt road. He didn't just give advice—he personally escorted us in his 4x4 through the most difficult and muddy section to ensure we wouldn't get stuck and could proceed with confidence. This gesture is beyond praise and shows a genuine commitment to guests.
Thank you so much for this little paradise and for your incredible hospitality. We left not just rested, but with a feeling that we were truly welcome and cared for. We will definitely be back for a longer stay

The Bush Cottage was very beautiful, with a great pool and lovely rooms. The main lodge had a beautiful common area that included the dining room and pool terrace with a fantastic view. The Staff was very attentive and helped make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. If you decide on Tomjachu, please take the opportunity to go on the hiking trails. The groundskeeping staff does an excellent job at manicuring the gardens near the various properties as well as the trails. Other than the lush plant life, the wildlife was a major highlight. Hearing the abundant birdlife was a privilege, not to mention seeing the various game close up on foot.

I really enjoyed visiting Nelspruit.
I really enjoyed visiting Nelspruit. The city is clean, peaceful, and well looked after. The people were friendly, and there are many shops, restaurants, and places to visit. It is also a great base for exploring nearby attractions such as the Kruger National Park. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely visit again

A lovely slightly quirky old mining town with lots of accommodation but comes to life at week-ends.
The pub Salvatore was basic, friendly and service and food was good. Wine was generously served by the glass.
Bohemian Groove was great for breakfast but is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We only had time for breakfast as we were leaving Thursday morning. But we did see a couple of the wild horses!! bonus point.

Schoemanskloof is a beautiful area with stunning views and Waterfalls. There is a lot of nice affordable accomodation as well. We stayed at Klipinnibos which were absolutely wonderful!! There is a lot of hiking possibilities around the area with a lot of shade.

The facilities are exactly as advertised. Access was easy, host proactive and well communicative. Though she offers self-checkin, she holds your hand through the process. The place is 40min from Kruger National Park where all the fun is at. A must check out certainly

NOTHING WRONG WITH THE HOST. HE TRIED HIS BEST TO ACCOMMODATE US. BOOKING.COM MADE A DOUBLE BOOKING. THE HOST OFFER US HIS OWN BEDROOM EN SUITE. WE BOOKED TWO ROOMS BECAUSE WE WERE 3 PEOPLE. THIRD PERSON HAD TO SLEEP ON FLOOR. I HOLD BOOKING.COM RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. YOU TOOK THE MONEY FOR TWO ROOMS BUT WE ONLY GOT ONE.

Now spray is known as the Switzerland of South Africa, beautiful bushveld luscious and green a great stop to the Kruger Park so that you can refresh recharge and carry on with your adventure. Business is growing in this area they have top hospitals. If you're going to Mozambique or are you going to the Kruger Park or are you going up to Hoedspruit it is a great place to stop and recharge.

Gorgeous escarpment and unusual rock formations.
Gorgeous escarpment and unusual rock formations. Great to see the wild horses and visit the magnificent waterfall. Excellent restaurant with the best Eisbein and beef goulash at Bohemian. Wonderful Sunday afternoon music too. Nice to meander through the village streets. We were lucky to see the Autumn leaves turning so delightful colours everywhere.

Great location. Easy to find. Bespoke and clean facilities. Wholesome host with impeccable mannerisms. A stone throw from shopping centre and restaurants. Cosy and perfect for a couple or 2. Excellent spot for solace and chilled back experience of nature laced with modern.

Beautiful area and fairly close to Nelspruit if you need to...
Beautiful area and fairly close to Nelspruit if you need to do some shopping. Also fairly close to the Kruger National Park which is great to see for day trips. The N4 in great condition. Just make sure the kind of road you have to travel on to your actual lodge/cottage. Some of the roads are gravel roads.
