On the river, beautiful! Grounds very well kept. Peaceful with the sound of running water, not often found. Aon (owner) was amazing. Went over and above to assist us where possible. Due to our circumstances we had to change rooms and the black river room was perfect. Bed, pillows, sheets, shower, bathroom, size of room really great. The River is opposite taxi stand so really convenient The breakfast was a combination of western eggs and salad, croissants and the thai rice porridge. Yumbolio. We enjoyed the dinner which was more than ample. All the staff very attentive. Thank you everyone at The River. Highly recommend.

Went there with my wife for a celebratory dinner at the private dinner at their restaurant. Absolutely amazing location, so beautiful. Very well organised and setup up, food was delicious. Service from our waitstaff was fantastic and attentive. Choose Papai as we had just completed the Hong Som loop over 10 days on a bike, and I wanted somewhere peaceful. I wasn't disappointed: The staff are so attentive and helpful. The food is amazing. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful. The pool was an added bonus. The area is quiet, and a scooter is recommended to get around. Lots to explore in the local area, with Chiang mia about 12 miles away. The family dogs are friendly and stay clear of you. Would definitely recommend it here for a stay. Loved it.

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay near Chiang Mai - don't think twice, this is it! Breakfast is delicious, owner is super friendly and speaks English fluent. I would like to point out that the hotel grounds are very cozy. There are several good cafes nearby. Obviously, this place is quiet because it is far away from the city center so you would better have some transport. But there is enough parking spaces.
