The place feels fresh after recent renovations. We had never experienced an Onsen, and in fact didn’t realise we were booking an all inclusive holiday at an Onsen hotel. But it was a cultural immersion experience like no other. We lived a tiny slice of an integral part of Japanese culture that Westerners don’t usually experience, and we felt both welcomed and privileged. It was brilliant.

This is a beautiful property that feels comfortable and rejuvenating. The design is very thoughtful in terms of both comfort and ambiance. It felt like a retreat. Our only regret was not booking it for more days.

The staff was nice and friendly. The hotel is very new, clean, and spacious. There was free parking too. We had a very comfortable stay.

Just 10 minutes from JR Wakura Onsen Train Station on the free shuttle, Hangoyomi features an indoor hot-spring bath and massage services. Rooms have an LCD TV and a mini-bar.
