A wonderful hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The breakfast is incredibly delicious with a great selection (the dumplings were my favorite!). The spa area is absolutely fantastic—I would love to come back!

Everything was right, from start to finish. The place, the bed, the lounge, I’m literally planning to go back with my family. Is the first time ever, while traveling, that I’ve felt so comfortable in a hotel room. I felt like the room was a place to be, to stay, to live and it didn’t bother me to be there while a snowstorm was raging outside. The bed was amazing, even though it was a Japanese futon, the staff was super nice and welcoming and the free drinks at the lounge were amazing. This is the best hotel I’ve ever been and I will definitely return.

Good location and really good facilities.

The place is clean, homey, and is just walking distance from Old Town which is one of Takayama's main tourist spot. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

Onsen on the 9th floor. Great location, only 5 min from the old part of the city. Several good restaurants within 5 minutes walk

LOVE EVERYTHING! Had a perfect stay in Miyama Ouan. From the staff,food,onsen and so on. It was a long drive from Kyoto to Takayama and when the bus arrived from the last station the free shuttle for pick-up is already there waiting for us, probably due to heavy snowfall at that time, THANK YOU! the resort is just a 5-10mins walk from the station but its impossible with all the snow. All the staff are kind and accommodating, they always make sure that your stay is comfortable and pleasant. Love their Yakuta, they let you chose which design you like. The room is spacious ,clean and the view from the bath is great. the onsen is perfect with a bit of snow falling . the view from the restaurant every breakfast is unparalleled. Thank you Miyama for giving me an unforgettable winter experience. Will definitely come back again!

The private onsen was the best part of the trip. It is on the deck and you can literally spend hours soaking in the nature. In addition, the staff was beyond lovely and were extremely helpful. They even offered to draw me a map of the different walking routes. The food was also amazing at the restaurant. The chicken and pork were good as well as the hida beef. Room is very spacious. It is traditional Japanese so there is no standup shower but does how the stuff for a good onsen soak.

I loved the Ryokan Style and how they put High Tech in Traditional Design in. If you looking for a quite and not busy place in the Mountains, then you found one of the perfect places. The Onsen you can put it in one word: Awesome! The Gentlemen and Lady's Section switches in the Morning, or Evening, so You can go in the same Day on both In- and Outdoor places. the Times are 05:00AM - 10:00AM and 03:00PM - 01:00AM. The Experience of this Onsen is worth it, I highly can recommend it. You also get a Yukata you can use for free (Have to return it bei Check-Out).

Absolut amazing hotel. I think the pictures are misleading a little because the hotel is a million times better in person. The staff are exceptional and the free shuttle service is the reason why this hotel is superior to others around them in Takayama.
