LOVE EVERYTHING!
Had a perfect stay in Miyama Ouan. From the staff, food, onsen and so on.
It was a long drive from Kyoto to Takayama and when the bus arrived from the last station the free shuttle for pick-up is already there waiting for us, probably due to heavy snowfall at that time, THANK YOU! the resort is just a 5-10mins walk from the station but its impossible with all the snow.
All the staff are kind and accommodating, they always make sure that your stay is comfortable and pleasant.
Love their Yakuta, they let you chose which design you like.
The room is spacious ,clean and the view from the bath is great.
the onsen is perfect with a bit of snow falling .
the view from the restaurant every breakfast is unparalleled.
Thank you Miyama for giving me an unforgettable winter experience.
Will definitely come back again!

I loved the Ryokan Style and how they put High Tech in Traditional Design in. If you looking for a quite and not busy place in the Mountains, then you found one of the perfect places. The Onsen you can put it in one word: Awesome!
The Gentlemen and Lady's Section switches in the Morning, or Evening, so You can go in the same Day on both In- and Outdoor places. the Times are 05:00AM - 10:00AM and 03:00PM - 01:00AM. The Experience of this Onsen is worth it, I highly can recommend it. You also get a Yukata you can use for free (Have to return it bei Check-Out).

The hotel was very traditional and pretty! The location is also very convenient for walking to the bus stop to Kamikochi and the onsen facility is very satisfactory as well. The staff was also very helpful with parking service and also providing us with an umbrella to borrow during our stay.
18 miles from Kamikochi, Nakaodaira features 5-star accommodations in the Shin Hotaka Onsen district of Takayama. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property.

My wife and I had such an incredible experience at Nakaodaira. The lodge is clean and peaceful. The onsen baths were private and highly rejuvenating. They had 4 indoor onsen baths and 2 outdoor options. The food was traditional Japanese meals.
There are a couple of activities around (cable car, and a cave I believe) but we spent the 2 nights in the lodge enjoying the snowfall and baths.
The owners were two of the loveliest people we’ve encountered in Japan. They helped us resolve a travel issue, and were genuinely considerate and caring.
We cannot wait to return.
