United StatesThe hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating, and they were so gracious with us! They cooked a delicious Kiritanpo nabe hot pot for us when we arrived, and some delicious breakfasts every morning. This was the perfect place to spend time with family out in nature, where you are very close to hotsprings and hikes along the lake. There's also a special tub with direct access to hot spring water on the property.

CanadaThis is an amazing place to stay. A beautiful and historic building, well appointed and incredibly spacious. Great breakfast delivered each day, shuttle from train station. Fantastic air conditioning during the summer heat wave. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

All the best except for our room is near the dog friendly zone. Unluckily, there are the baking dogs in two rooms near our room. The staffs are nice. They were willing to change us to the new room far from that zone as soon as they could. The food is the best. The staffs are the best. The view, the atmosphere and the clear sky at night are the best. Worth to stay here.

Excellent location, just right at the entrance of Lake Tazawa - the starting point of the lake road. It has its own car park with ample parking spaces. The staff who served us were very good. The public outdoor onsen was very good. Both the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner were of good quality, with a good balance of Japanese and western food. Our room was in the main building, looked a little old but clean in general.

We liked our room. It was quite spacious and the staff was really nice. The location was extremely close to the station that made traveling comfortable. It's also a 25-30 minute walk from the Samurai Residencies.

The view, the snow, the accomodation, the onsen, everything to be precise. Worth it to travel all the way to Nyuto Onsen for that. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Even after having dinner, staffs told us to bring some food up to hotel room! Never come across staffs that asked us to do that.

A nice and warm guesthouse in the middle of thick snow in December for someone who wants to avoid crowded cities. The room was spacious, clean and warm. The private onsen was a plus point. A super cute Golden retriever who loves being petted. Good experiences in Japan.

The hotel is located right beside the JR Kakunodate Train station. Its closed proximity means catching a train or going to the convenient store is as simple as just exiting the hotel and turning right and you will be there in 10 seconds. While the breakfast did not have large selection due to the small number of guests, it does offers of a variety of Japanese and European breakfast. If you are intending to stay in your room most of the time, it has high speed internet on the orders of 100mbps despite the small town.

The onsen is super nice and big and clean with outdoor bath. Be aware that opening hours is 5-9am and then 3pm-midnight.
Room super spacious with fridge.
You can have free cold and hot drinks at the lounge. Lounge have a smoking area, microwave vending machine.
