United StatesThis was our favorite place in Kyushu. It is small and the attention to every detail is exceptional. The decor from the wallpapers to the tiles, and from the design of the onsen to the gardens are impeccable. The meals were also excellent. The hospitality of the staff, in particular Kumi-San and Megumi-San, was also a highlight.

Was our first time staying at a traditional 2-storey japanese house, did take some getting used to, otherwise an interesting experience! Futons were tucked in the cupboard and was comfy once laid out. House was spacious with old school finishings, however toilet was surprisingly newly constructed (it seems).

We booked a room with private bath. Very clean, larger than normal Japanese, futon on the floor. The breakfast is very basic, boiled egg and toast, coffee, tea. The location is great, very close to the small road to Tachachiho Gorge. We parked our car at the B&B and walked.

Awesome location, direct access to a walking track to the Gorge. The accommodations were clean, airy and spacious. It was simply perfect and such good value for money. The restaurant next door was perfect for dinner too.

The breakfast was quaint and cozy. It's just toast and tea/coffee, but the jam, butter and honey combo were amazing. Also there are boiled eggs.
Our room had its own bathroom and we loved it. Very comfortable stay.
Location was perfect. We walked to the shrine to watch the yagura performance like 5 minutes away walking. Then we went to the gorge the next day, which was just a couple minute drive.
The view from the room was beautiful!

Very kind and smiling receptionist.
A spacious room, comfy futon, with a wonderful view on the valley.
Everything was very clean and calm.
You can visit Amanoiwato Shrine by foot, its entrance is like 200-400 meters from the guest house and you can even see one of the torii doors from the window.
It's better to come by car so you can visit Takachiho nearby.

Good location close to the bus center and restaurants but in a quiet spot.
Spacious, clean and comfy room.
Tea and coffee available.
Checkout is from 4.30pm but you can agree to leave your luggage here or at the tourist office by the bus center.
